I had a YLOD and they replaced it free of charge, no questions asked. That was enough to ensure my loyalty for the next 9001 years, let me tell you.

Mine was 2 and a half years old, so I had to buy a new one. :?

I really hope this never happens to my PS3. Sounds quite common, given only 2-3% of which can be affected.

Also sounds like that 2-3% is here.

I notice nobody's added me yet. Do I have to do everything myself?

Sometimes I wonder if I've made the wrong decision picking Xbox over PS3. If there's two things Xbox does better, it's the community and Microsoft game studios. But there are so many things the PS3 does better (they get Gran Turismo 5! ) that looking back, I would probably have bought one of them instead. I did make a PSN account once at a friend's house that I've used a couple of times, but I can't remember the name (somethingSpectrenumber, I think). Maybe one day I'll get one, when Gran Turismo 6 breaks our perception of reality and looks better than real life.

You pay to be able to play online. 60€ for a year I think.

The whole 360 vs PS3 thing comes down to the exclusives, really. Halo vs Killzone, GT vs Forza, etc

I personally couldn't see myself getting a 36 above a PS3, because there are only 3 or 4 xbox exclusives I'd like to play, and even those I can live without. But I can perfectly understand how someone may like the 360 a lot more than the PS3.

Ok, Tom, I'll add you, and all the others on the list I guess.

Oh and yeah, Gran Turismo is great. I've been playing and loving that series ever since Gran Turismo 2. GT 4 was the only game I anticipated enough to actually pre-order, and I played that game ragged.

Made a huge leap from GT1 to GT4. But loved GT4 and can't wait for the fifth. I'm actually going to pre-order the Collector's Edition tomorrow or the day after.

I'd get the Signature Edition but:
a) It has cool things, but I don't really need them.
b) It's too expensive.
c) I don't have a job.

GT 5 would be a great online game to play together I think.

I also just checked out the different editions of the game. I must admit, the Signature Edition looks sweeeet! But like you said, it's expensive and all those things aren't really necessary, especially the scale model. I would love that wallet though. :P And those exclusive in-game cars.

Oh, and to play online, I'm mostly available only on weekends, pretty much all day. I also have free time on friday afternoons because I finish school early. EST/EDT.

Well, the Chromeline cars are available with the Collector's Edition. And some stores may have two of the Stealth cars to give you if you pre-order. E.g. The store I'm pre-ordering from has the Mazda and the Merc SLS (Stealth) as a pre-order gift. Plus the chromeline cars I'll get with the CE, I'll only be missing a few Stealth cars, and out of those, the only one that I'd really want is the Audi R10.

They'll probably all end up in the Playstation Store in a few months anyway.

I have a friend who's getting the signature edition, plus a top of the range steering wheel controller, plus a hard drive add on, all for the game. And I will spends days upon days at his house. It's rare for me to get excited over a racing game, but this might actually have a hope of beating Call of Duty to GOTY, which is good enough for me.

If we're talking online games, I run on GMT (or BST for another month) every day apart from Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7pm and all weekend. Just so you know.

I'm itching to play some LBP madness, but it's shameful that none of you seem to have UT3...

I did think 'bout getting it when it came out, mostly for the modding ability, but I've never played an Unreal game.

You're missing out. They're quite limited, but since I've been playing them for 12 years I just can't give them up. Plus, most of the best games nowadays are Unreal Engine-based. In my games case alone, I've got Mirror's Edge, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Wolverine. That's not even mentioning Mass Effect, Bioshock or Borderlands.

/fanboy

But seriously, I'm not much of an online gamer. I need to practise, having fallen out of touch with my quick-reaction brain centre.

Well, we can play some online LBP now, if you want to. I'll be a naked sackboy, but what the hell.

I obviously know Unreal Engine.

Oh wonderful. I start talking about my PS3 on the internet and I immediately get network errors and can't sign in. It's the curse of 'yup, I'm having no problems'. RRGH.

The last time this happened I had to refresh the router settings. Does anyone know of a quicker solution?
