Does anyone have any insight to the Skingrad Castle butler, (Shum go Yarug)?

I want to buy a house in Skingrad and evidently I have to approach this guy to do it. He is not where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be there, i.e. The West Weald Inn at between 10:00am and 12:00 Noon or the Colovian Trader a couple of doors down from there on till I think 4:00pm when he is supposed to head back.

The information I have so far is that he may have "fallen off a bridge" and is therefore dead, thus not availing the possibility of me expanding my property empire!

If indeed this is the case, I am getting really frustrated with the way the game plays out for PS3. It would appear that Alawen, (the character needed for final Marksman Training) has also seen her demise due to circumstances beyond the PS3 players control.

If this is the way Bethesda decided on the game play, why not kill all of the characters now, prevent me from wasting my time and let me get on with Assassin's Creed IV!

He might not be dead. Maybe you keep "just missing him". I run into him fairly often on the streets of Skingrad. If I was looking for him I would go to the castle around 7am and just wait for him in the throne room. If he's alive he should show up around 8am and hang out for a couple of hours. He should return to the throne room around 2pm and be there for the rest of the day. Assuming he's not dead.

To be sure, start the quest and follow the green arrow down to the road below and watch it flip around where he hit.

Yes it would go for that quest too. Just go into your journal and make "Buying A House In Skingrad" your active quest. The pointer will then lead you to him.

I've been playing with my avatar for a month and Shum hasn't even taken any damage. It must just be bad luck.

I've made "Buying a House in Skingrad" my quest and a red marker is shown on the map. I head for it and when I get there it seems that I have to into the castle. I search every single room including the wine cellar where he is supposed to sleep but no sign.

I come out and see a that there is a green marker not to far away so head for it. I discover that I am right on top of the marker just outside the castle on the big bridge.

I drop off the bridge, (I've still got the Springheel Jak boots on!). I have a good look round the area below the bridge in the vicinity of the green marker using my compass expecting at least to find a body but nothing!

I think this part of the game is crap. You waste so much time messing around looking around in vane for characters that aren't there.
