Where can I up my skill in Hand to Hand?

I've watched the two characters at the Arena and I've done all of the skill books - I think!

Is it just a case of slugging it out?

FYI, you should do those at the end of levelling a skill, not the start, but yeah, you now to start slugging it out...

If you have the DLC that offers Battlehorn Castle, you have the option of having access to a personal trainer who is a great opportunity for practice and leveling up! He can spar with you, and though it can be tedious, I found it well worth it.

Otherwise, just go beat some creatures up! ;)

O/T - Avron? Your back?

OT - OP, just to add, If you are on PC version, use the console and add a few thousand hit points to a mudcrab, use tai to make it do nothing and spam your attack button...

Hand to hand is the easiest of the three to build, but take some custom health potions along and have your shield spells ready.

If you don't want to 'adjust' the bad guys to make them less dangerous, the daedra in Darkfathom cave are good to beat on (daedroth, storm atros, spiders). Minotaurs and land draugh are not too dangerous, but they tend to come in caves with ogres and will-o-the wisps, which will give you problems. If you go after spriggans, beat up the bears and then the spriggans. The spriggans will regenerate their health at least once if you let them.

I've achieved the magic 100 now in Mercantile and Speechcraft so that's those put to bed!

I got up to 75 in Alteration and got a note for training off the Argonian who kips by the edge of the lake. The only thing is you have to go swimming underwater with him. That isn't a problem because early on in the game I got the Ring of Rumar which allows me to swim underwater permanently, the problem is he wants me to accompany him for 3 freaking hours! I'll be all wrinkly by the time I surface!

Trouble is you can't "wait" underwater and if you surface you have to start over again.

Is there any way to speed up this training - if the game isn't made tedious enough - who the hell thought of this one!

Still squeezing the buttons on the others. I have actually on occasion gone to a safe location, (such as one of my houses), reset the controls on the game pad and switched the TV on and sat there pressing the button for the duration of a film or something. That certainly alleviates the boredom.

What I want to do is get to a level with everything where I can go do the Shivering Isles and the Main Quest fully tooled up just to see what happens.

On another subject - I went to the "Unmarked Cave" (World Map Ref No. 37 on page 507 of the Primagames guide). You need a key which isn't available as this cave is an unfinished part of the programming. The Wiki states that it is possible to get to it through a hole in the ceiling the cave at one of its most northerly points, but you need damned good Acrobatics. I enchanted a load of armour and got my Acrobatics from 88 to 160 but I still couldn't jump up through this hole into the next level.

The other method suggested is to collect a load of paint brushes. Supposedly there's some sort of glitch that allows you discard these and either jump off them or use them as steps!

Has anyone had a go at this - it sounds a bit daft to me and I don't want to waste even more time - but then again I've been plodding away at this for over 6 months now!

Three game world hours isn't three Earth hours. It's maybe fifteen minutes. Just sit there and read a book or go pop some popcorn while you wait. I did the quest once just to do it. It's not a big deal. I tried swimming into the cave to pass the time exploring, but that didn't work, you have to stay there with the guy.

You can just press the button cast down on a little shield spell and walk away to build up Alteration. It saves on training sessions.

Free paint brushes are all over the place in clutter boxes, just drop one and it stays at about waist level. It's a bit hard to see though.
