I'm trying to fight Lorgren Benirus, and something is happening that I can't completely explain. I'm hitting him with an enchanted weapon, and half or more of the enchantments on my own weapon are reflecting back on me. Obviously, this is a lot like spell reflection -- but the wiki seems to say that spell reflection is only for cast spells. The wiki article on Lorgren doesn't mention any special forms of reflection that he possesses that would seem to cause this. It doesn't even say that he has spell reflection at all. I didn't think enchantments could be reflected in the first place -- just resisted.

What am I not understanding here?

UESP.net says he's got a 25% Spell Absorbtion effect.

I think this might be a mistake as Elder Scrolls wiki says Lichs have a 25% Spell Reflection.

I believe ES wiki is correct as I was fighting a bunch of them during the Vahtacen quest after getting that Ayleid Artifact. I was standing up on the platform flinging fireballs and turn undead spells while my storm atronach pounded away at them and my spells would sometimes be reflected back at me.

So does that mean you are under the impression that weapon enchantments count as "cast spells" when you smack someone with one?

Hey you asked why your weapon's enchantments were being "reflected" back onto you. UESP's article doesn't mention Lorgren having any sort of "reflect" ability, but ESwiki says Lichs do in fact have a 25% Reflect Spell ability.

If you're still in doubt, go find a normal Lich, give it a few love taps, and see what happens.

Heh. Thanks. I'm having enough trouble with just this one for now. And anyway, the wiki says I'll have to wait 19 more levels until I find normal liches anyplace.
But what you say is making sense to me -- it just seems like it's more like 50% spell reflection to me right now from what I'm seeing.

-- OK, I fought him about 10 times in a row and it was about 25% each time. I don't know why such a high percentage reflected the first 2 times. So you are right, PrinceJonathan.
