Is it just me or is this enchantment the same as Fortify Magicka? Magicka Enchantment icon looks prettier, so I don't see a use with that..

They're different in regards that "Fortify Intelligence" is actually "Fortify Attribute" with Intelligence selected as the attribute to fortify.

That said, Fortify Attribute has a different cost than Fortify Magicka (in terms energy required as well as in terms of gold). So one will always cost more than the other. But yes: They both do pretty much the same thing through different mechanisms.

It's the difference between:

Magicka = (Intelligence × 2) + birthsign bonus + racial bonus
and
Magicka = (Intelligence × 2) + birthsign bonus + racial bonus + Magicka Bonus

The primary benefits of both spells are the same, but the bonus to magicka is indirect by using fortify intelligence. There are some redundancies in the magic system, due to the way some stats are calculated. So you can get the same result through multiple channels. Personally, I'd prefer the game having multiple ways to reach the same outcome.
