I seem to somehow achieved 102 in Marksmanship - how is this possible?

I thought the maximum was 100.

The skill isn't being enhanced by anything as far as I can see.

I may have gained some extra skill points at some point and I was nearing the max. I also revived the Aelwyn the Master Trainer with the console some time back. Will this have made a difference?

Trainers can train skills past 100. If you lower your skills with a spell and then train it with a trainer, you can raise the skill above their max training level, I think.

The night mother's blessing.

Trainers will not go above 100, AFAIK. I'm pretty sure I've tried. If you have bonus points, the trainers will stop at 100 and you have to build the extra points manually. For instance, when I permanently glitched the crown of Nenelata for the extra 15 pts to alteration and conjuration, I had to push buttons for those 15 extra points. Trainers did not cooperate when I cast a drain skill spell on myself. It can be confusing if you have those skills as majors.

You can also achieve above the skill cap via other means, some more permanent than others. The Ogma is one such way, being able to level mutliple skills at once. I haven't played Oblivion for some time though, but I do recall that certain buffs like blessings or maybe enchantments can overcome the skill cap, but doing so is far from permanent.

You can't train beyond lvl 100 by draining your skills, but only Acrobatics and Athletics have any benefit if they are raised above 100 anyway, so it's of little real consequence.

The Night Mother's Blessing is the only way I can think of that you would have increased Marksman past 100. It gives a +2 boost, which matches your circumstances.

Acrobatics and Athletics become much more useful for exiting the game at a faster rate, due to frequent crashes from you jumping over cities and running the length of the world every five minutes.

Yes, check for Night Mother's blessing, as it does not buff those skills but just raises them.
