My character has not gone to the tower with the bittercup, so I'd just like to know how the part where you grab it works. According to the wiki and some youtube videos, when you grab the bittercup, you get a message asking you whether you want to take it or drink it. My question is, if you choose to take it, are you allowed to go into your inventory later on and drink it if you change your mind?

My second question is: if I go to the tower before even getting the bittercup quest from gentleman Jim in the Thieves guild, will the cup be there? I intend to grab it and then use it to raise my luck, and then I plan to do the thing where you get both Jim Stacey's quest *and* the Fighter's Guild quest to kill the two corrupt guild members (one being the person that Jim asks you to give the cup to; according to the wiki, if you just kill that person, Jim will still consider the quest completed, but just will not give you the grandmaster lockpick as a reward). Has anyone ever gotten the cup before getting either of these quests, then drank it, and then was able to complete both quests?

I'm probably misremembering, but can't you retrieve it from Eydis' cold, dead hands?

A discussion on suggests you can get the cup back using , because using the cup doesn't delete it.

And I'd like to add that you can get an infinite amount of grandmaster lockpicks from Jim Stacey if you give the cup to Eydis.
