Hi all,

First things first, I just joined the forum and want to say hello to everyone. Great to be here. I just started playing Morrowind again about two months ago for the first time in six or seven years and am really enjoying it again, especially after installing the overhaul mod. Looks awesome now!

Ok, on to my question(s). I just joined House Telvanni and am doing quests. I picked up a quest from Aryon(?) to talk to Baladas in Gnisis and get him to join the council. Well.....here's the thing: I killed Baladas quite a while back now and have no way of going back and undoing my mistake (i.e.-no earlier saves to reload). I've been trying to put him back in the game via the console using the PlaceAtPc command and trying a number of different distance values such us 1.20.1, etc (for instance PlaceAtPc"baladas demnevanni"1.20.1). I keep getting an error message to the effect that I need a distance value at line 1. Am I doing something wrong?

Alternatively, can I get a stronghold without completing Aryon's quests, or am I pretty much boned without Baladas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Would using the console to add the Journal entry that Baladas has agreed to join the council work for you?

I hadn't thought of that, great idea! And what would the syntax for that be, or where could I find out?
Thanks!

Oops, nevermind. Saw the answer when I re-read your reply. Thanks again!

There's nothing wrong with placeatpc "baladas demnevanni" 1,1,1

Hi jhzg, welcome to the forums

For the record, there's no way to construct your stronghold without being promoted to the rank of Mouth, and Aryon is the only Councillor who will sponsor you in such a way.

An alternative to messing around with quest stages (which is not always a viable option) might also be to find the body in question (if you haven't removed it) and using the 'Resurrect' command to bring the chosen NPC back to life.

Morrowind is a game that makes you feel the consequences of your actions. There are many instances in which it will make you regret killing NPCs you thought you could live without, so be careful in future! :P
