The opening music that builds up as the main menu loads, I listened to the full song on MP3 format and I must say that out of the three ES games I've played (MW/OB/SKY) I think it's the best. I mean they are all quite good but for some reason Morrowind's opening theme really moved me and made want to play the game and explore it even more.

Oh yes. Yes it does. One of the best opening themes ever made. Something about it just makes you want to jump in and play.
Legend of Grimrock also has an amazing opening theme that gives off the same vibe. I find that game so boring, but if I hear the theme I HAVE TO play.

The opening theme for Morrowind has always made me feel, stirred. I wanted to go on an adventure and see things and do things that no one has ever done. It makes me feel as though I'm strolling through the Ascadian Isles and wandering through Molag Amur. However, when I can't sleep, it's also perfect for getting me to knock out. It's one of the few pieces of music that I genuinely love.

To be honest, they all sound pretty much the same to me. Adding in a different set of drums every five years doesn't change the music that much, to my ear.

No, to me they sound pretty much the same. To be comparable, that's like saying the Prelude in Final Fantasy is completely different and unique just because they change the instruments that it is played with each game. It doesn't matter how new or not you are to any series, music is music. And there are only so many variations you can put on the same basic structure and variation. And to tell the truth, I've never thought of Pirates of the Caribbean when hearing Reign of the Septims, but I did say, "That's just Nerevar's Rising."

But that's just me. As I said, you can think however you wants to about it.

I think they're all awesome. They all get me pumped to play. <3

@Br3admax
I'm talking about the lead melody here. In FF it's that token arpeggio, which is still present (unchanged, down to the last note) even in the FFX prelude - just pointing this out since some folks mistakenly consider "To Zanarkand" to be the prelude of that game.

I'm just not sure how you can recognize the difference between the FF themes, but not the TES themes. Forgive me if I misinterpreted your meaning.

Huh, Br3ad arguing, shocker. I've never heard Nerevar Rising in Reign of the Septims, though I do hear Pirates of the Caribbean. I do notice Nerevar in Skyrim's theme though. But it's just plain obvious there. Even if they are the same, instruments do make a huge difference in how a song feels. A distortion guitar sounds very different from a pipe organ.

But on topic, I've always loved Nerevar Rising, easily my favorite of the themes. Any time it comes on my phone's shuffle I want to stop whatever I'm doing and play Morrowind.
