Maddie had been expecting to encounter some strange people here, but it had certainly taken her by surprise to see a guy who seemed to be made of stitched wool, not to mention a freaking lizard man. She had already sat herself down, and took only periodic sips from a water bottle as she passed her eyes around the room somewhat distantly. In the back of her mind she knew that she should get up and about, and introduce herself to some of these new and certainly interesting people, but she couldn't gather the inclination to actually do so.

"Armament. Ha, ok. Nice to meet you." Sherwood laughed, unsure whether to ask him further questions. Though usually confident, being in a room full of other SPIGs was a little out of his comfort zone.

He turned around and drank some of his drink, but nearly spat some out as he noticed a rag-doll like man present. Bloody hell! What the hell is that! He realised he was gawping at the strange fellow and quickly looked away. The lizard guy was weird enough but this guy...

Sherwood looked at the other people in the room. The rest of them look normal. A couple of them looked freaked out at the oddities too, so at least he wan't the only one staring.

"Well, going to take a seat now. Enjoy your drink." He smiled at Alex as he went and sat on the same couch as a young woman. He smiled at her and then drank some more juice.

Alex had just enough time to say "You too" before Sherwood left.
Alex leaned against the wall as he surveyed everyone again.
Well this is bloody awkward, room full of strangers and tardiness from whoever wants us here.

The voice was saying too many things at once now, creating a cacophony of sound in Amanda's mind. She put her hands over her ears to no avail. One phrase stood out suddenly, "Bloody hell."

Dick helped himself to another drink then another and then another. He knew he had to control himself but considering most of his drinks were from a sewer or from the sky, it was a relief for him to not worry about blowing his next chance of getting hydrated. "Gosh, this is refreshing." He remarked as he poured himself yet another drink. "Ah, greetings everyone, I am rather new to this..... group thing but is it a good idea for introductions?" He addressed everyone as he leaned against the table before realising that it may not be a good idea so he stopped himself from potentially destroying the drink's table and earning the scorn of humans. He had more then enough scorn to last him several lifetimes. I do hope they allow us to take the remaining drinks with us as sewer water tastes awful. Thank my digestive system for it's ability to handle anything I eat.

Amanda gave an unconvincing smile back to Sherwood as she slowly put her hands back down. The voice had stopped for a moment while the big lizard guy was speaking. She leaned over slightly and whispered, "Where are we?" to Sherwood.

Sherwood looked away from the scaly man and turned to Amanda as she whispered. "Oh, hi! Err...the briefing room, they called it. Just waiting on someone to tell us what's next."

He held out his hand again. "Sherwood. Bit mad in here isn't it. Kind of freaky." He screwed up his face, then smiled again.

"Amanda," Amanda said, taking Sherwood's hand. "But...how did we...I mean, did you wake up here, too?" she asked in her southern drawl.

"Wake up? No, I got a taxi here." Sherwood gave Amanda a concerned look. "You don't remember how you got here?"

Amanda shook her head sorrowfully as she took her hand back.

"The last thing I remember was going to sleep in my dorm room," she said. "And now I'm in some briefing room with a bunch of people I've never seen, and...and," she swallowed before continuing, "do you see the big lizard?"

Sherwood glanced over at Dick. "Yeah, I know. He's...amazing." He stared at him again for a moment.

"But, anyway, you had that before? The memory loss?" He lowered his voice. "Is it something to do with your...power?"

Amanda's face scrunched up in a look of confusion. "No, I've nevah had this kind of thing happen before," she said. "Power? What do you mean? I don't have any power."

"Yeah, you know. Your 'SPIG' - as they call it. That's why we're here - to meet others with a gift, make friends with folk that have that in common. I suppose you've forgotten about it though." Sherwood's eyebrows lowered, as he thought of a possible explanation for the memory loss.

"I don't know. I'm no doctor, but don't worry, maybe it's just too much stress or something. You'll probably remember everything later. You want a glass of water? Something to drink?"

"Yes," Amanda said. "Water, please." She put her hands under her legs and looked at her lap.

Sherwood got up off the couch and went back over to the beverages. He felt sorry for Amanda; he was finding it a weird enough experience being there, and he could recall the entire morning's events.

He filled a glass with water, then went back to the couch. "Here you go." He handed Amanda the drink.

Amanda took the drink with both hands and sipped it quickly. "Thank you," she said. After a few sips she ventured, "So you have a power, then?"

Hmmm so Sherwood is too trusting, the Lizard is actually polite, and she doesn't know what's going on- this is definitely not a job, so why the bloody hell are we all here? Alex observed silently.
He decided to put a word to his concern.
"Does anyone have the slightest clue why all of us completely different incidividuals are even here?" He asked aloud to no one in particular.

"I believe I know a small amount of our purpose but at the same time, I fear what I know will result in a poor answer." Dick informed the human that asked about their purpose here.

"Err...well, yes, I suppose so." Sherwood answered Amanda's question, but he felt surprisingly uncomfortable with the thought of giving more details.
I'm here to meet these people...but...I've not even told Laura yet. God, maybe I should have told her first...

His thoughts were interrupted by Alex's question to the group.

"Have you got memory loss too?" Sherwood began to feel unsettled with the situation. "It's a socialising event. 'Meet others like you.' That's why we're all here, right? Though, I'm quite concerned that at least two people in here can't remember what's happening."

"Socialising event!?" Alex chuckled, "Whoever told you that was pulling your leg- I'm a merc, do you really think I'm the type to come to a social event?"

"I believe he is correct and not correct, with all due respect." Dick told the two humans as he poured himself another drink. "I was led to believe that we are here to help stop the deaths of innocents from those who seek to harm people like us." He informed the pair before drinking more of his non-alcoholic drink. "I think, this may be a simple test to see how we would react to meeting others of our kind, whether we have obvious powers to the subtle, we are either non-human or humans with abilities and it is because of our abilities that we were recruited for we may be the only people capable of preventing more deaths." He informed them before downing the rest of his drink and poured himself more.

"Wait, what? Recruited? And you're a mercenary?" Sherwood looked completely confused at this point. "Oh hang on, I know what's happened. I'm in the wrong group. They must've fudged up the lists or something. Amanda, you must be in the wrong group too."

He looked over at the door to the room. "I'll let them know when they come in. This is pretty shoddy, though."

"What's a mercenary? If it's ok for me to ask you for I am merely curious about what the definition of a mercenary is." Dick asked the man whilst pouring himself another drink.

"Ah, kidnapped in the middle of the night and waking up with no clue as to where you are. Reminds me of home." said Viktor remaining stretched back in his chair. Unlike some of the others, he wanted to be here. "I'm here because KIRIN came to me with an offer. They're going to be providing me with the resources to continue my research. " Viktor looked at the other people in the room, it was hard to guess what power someone might possess just at a glance. "Just out of curiosity, can any of you regenerate your telomeres?" It couldn't hurt to ask. Although seeing as the lizard didn't know what a mercenary was, Viktor suspected that he'd have no clue what he was talking about.
