Arren Rosemont, having had been in a light nap against a nearby pole, lifted his head and nodded. "I'm in. Been needing a little excitement here lately, anyways." He stood, stretched, and took a few steps towards Aegon.

Ardan took the pouch, the large fat spider wriggling in it. Where to put it? His impish grin copied his brothers. "Could use this.." he mumbled thinking about putting it in someones hair..

Rosemont Camp
Rickard had lost track of his charges. The tall, thick-jawed, shaved-bald guard had been assigned to watch over the twins Keegan and Ardan, but they had slipped off and rather thrown him for a loop. He came across them again as they sat in the wavy brown grass on the backside of the Rosemont family tent, handling the recently-closed pouch.

"Oi, there you are," the guard said with a sigh combining relief and annoyance. Pointing at the pouch, he added, "What've you little buggers got in there?"

Being adknowledged was rather an improvement for Donnick's usually way of getting greeted in a pub. That said, he wasn't known he so the words, [&@%!], [&@%!], off, were unlikely to be uttered unless fate really hated him. "10 coppers it is." He said to the girl as he retrieved a coin pouch of 10 crowns and paid the woman.

Ardan treated Rickard to the widest most mischievous smile yet. "Nothing!" He chirped, his gaze holding with the older man as he put the pouch away, hiding it for later, for mischief at night!

"We caught a fairy...." Keegan said calmly, stepping behind Ardan, looking a bit like a puppy. He didn't make direct eye contact with their overseer and was quite shy.

Rosemont Camp
Ser Aegon nodded his head in acknowledgment. "Right then, let's be off. We'll show these ladies and lords what our house can do." The master-at-arms began to head towards the castle. Their path would take them beside the Wendbridge knights, who were walking at a leisurely pace, but with confidence in their strides.

Rickard gave a curious look at the twins' pouch before smiling dismissively. "Alright then, little lordlings. Hunt your grumpkins and snarks. Just stay in sight, and be sure you don't get into too much trouble t'day. Lots of lords and knights about for the tourney. They can be a bit, hrm...touchy."

The Inn
Accepting payment, the barmaid smiled at Donnick. "Thank you, dear." She headed to the counter to give the coppers to the innkeep, and continued making her rounds.

"So, are you competing today, erm, Ser Knight?" The black bearded villager asked the hedge knight before taking a swig of his drink. "You can call me Ser Donal, or just Donal. Tomorrow, I'm going to be fighting in the melee." Ser Donal replied, and took a swig of his own ale. The villager nodded, obviously very impressed with the hedge knight. "Well, good luck, Ser. May the Seven keep you safe." The villager finished his drink and started to leave the inn, leaving Donnick Hill and the hedge knight Ser Donal alone at the table.

Robert smiled when his younger sister began scolding him. "You're right. I'll save laying about all day for if we go to Dorne. Hear it's a favourite past-time there." said Robert. He got out of his chair and stood up. "Tournament won't be for a while yet. And we don't want to miss that, our brother would be devastated if we didn't see his stunning victories." Robert added in a playful tone. He looked at his siblings. "Want to go out and look at the stalls?"

Donnick returned fire with his smile at the bartender and slowly drank his ale. "First time competing?" He asked Ser Donal as he forumlated a plan on how to spend his time at the event and if it was worth using his 'agent' to set up a few deals.

"That sounds like fun, but I don't think Father would want us spending coin on trinkets." Edmund replied with a frown, "There's no harm in just looking, I suppose."

Aemon followed after Ser Aegon, taking in his surroundings. He had not gotten a good look at the stalls when they arrived, but there were a great many of them. Sometimes, as they walked, an unfamiliar scent would enter his nose. Here in the Marches, spices from Dorne could make their presence known. They did smell nice, but with the lists soon closing, Aemon had no real choice but to press on with Aegon and Arren.

Keegan

"We will be good!" Keegan declared, doing his best impression of an innocent child. "Is there going to be a joust?" Keegan asked Rickard inquisitively.

"Yeah! Cross our hearts!" Ardan declared, crossing his fingers behind his back. Everyone knows that means you don't mean it right?

Rosemont Camp
"I hope so, you creepy little sneaks," said Rickard. "And yes, the joust is in an hour and a bit. Your older brother is going to be in it, and maybe your uncle too. Come on now, let's come back around to the front side." He turned halfway and started to walk back around the tent, gesturing and waiting for them to follow.

The Stalls
Jeyne nodded happily at her brothers' agreements. "Alright, then, let's go!"
---
The three Rosemont offspring went straight east, emerging from the tents to come upon the adjacent portion of the row of merchants and entertainers. Closest by were a jeweler, a smith, a stall selling musical instruments, and a dark-skinned man with exotic-looking wares on a wagon.

Next to the music shop, a long-haired performer was singing and playing the lyre. He was just finishing "My Lady Wife" when the Rosemonts arrived, and took a short break for the crowd (of about one or two dozen onlookers) to applaud. A beefy man behind the counter of the stall called out, "Want to sound like him? There's more where that lyre came from! Drums, lutes, harps and more, here at my shop!" It appeared that the merchant and the singer were working in co-promotion.

Meanwhile, the foreign man shouted, "Rare merchandise here, from the Free Cities and beyond! Souvenirs from faraway lands! Exotic goods to brighten up your home! Special talismans to bring you good luck and more!"

Of course, the row also stretched far to the left and right, with plenty more interesting things certain to be found if the Rosemonts chose to go either way.

"Oh, where should we look first?" said Jeyne, her eyes darting around with indecision.

The Inn
"No, I've had a chance to take part in a few so far," said Ser Donal. "This is the biggest one I've ever been in, though, and I'm hoping to prove myself enough for a lord to take me in. If I can get sworn to a house, that's the first step towards getting my own land and keep. What about you? You competing in anything, or just here to watch?"

Path to Blackhaven
The Rosemont and Wendbridge men passed by a good number of fellow lords' and knights' pavilions on the way up to the castle. In order, they passed the encampments of Houses Crakehall, Tarly, Selmy, Caron, Merryweather, Estermont, Caswell, and Swann.

They finally came upon the outer gate of Blackhaven castle, which was guarded by four Dondarrion soldiers, two on each side of the open gateway. Upon seeing the non-suspicious Wendbridge and Rosemont shields, the guard on the near right nodded and said, "You can pass on through."

The groups passed together into the castle courtyard. The ground here was reddish, all flat rock, which ascended on a slight incline towards and past the looming black walls of the Dondarrions' stronghold. Serving men and women were all around, walking in all directions to wherever their jobs took them. Two fully-armoured knights with lightning-bolt shields sparred within a fenced circle. At the front gate of the castle, a few men stood talking, while a small group of others were currently passing through into the castle.

"Looks like we're all heading for the steward," remarked Ser Aegon to the Wendbridge group. "Are all of you going to be competing?"

The brothers Wendbridge and Ser Jon turned to regard Ser Aegon and the Rosemonts after being addressed, and they matched their pace to that of the other group. Jory and Jon turned back to see where they were going, while Ser Brandon addressed the Rosemonts. "Why yes, we are. And I take it that means you three will be, as well? --I fear we will need a...more proper introduction, as soon as we have all been put on the lists." Brandon wore a warm smile as he spoke. Ser Jory and Ser Brandon wore golden bands on their arms. The three on Brandon's left arm jangled quietly as he walked, while the single band on Jory's right arm was silent. Jon wore no bands on his arms, nor could he, as he was dressed in plate. Instead, a dozen golden bands were worn on the front of his belt, jangling noisily.

Edmund looked lustily at the instruments. In the excitement, he'd left his prized lute at Redgrass and by the time he'd realized, it had been too late to race back. Remembering and regretting his earlier caution, Edmund elected to distract himself from their temptation.

He pointed to the exotic man's wagon, "You may not get another chance to see such things, Jeyne. Not soon at least."

"To watch." Donnick told the knight as he drank his ale. "Which house do you hope to be sworn to?" He inquired as he wiped his mouth and wondered how much coin he could make if he somehow managed to rig the tourney in the knight's favour but he knew it would be too risky. That and he was rather fond of his head being attached to his body.

Keegan

Keegan shrugged, he didn't like being called creepy, but he knew he wasn't. Not really. He followed Rickard, as expected, mostly because he didn't want to get their spider taken. Keegan absentmindedly groped the air for his bother's hand, it was a twin thing.

Richard nodded agreeing with his younger brother. "Come on, let's get a closer look." said Richard heading toward the exotic merchandise Edmund had pointed at.

Ardan's hand wrapped around Keegan's a tongue thrusted out at the back of Rickard's head. The spider will be held for the while. He'd need a most opportune moment to use it.

Ser Aegon and Arren simultaneously nodded to the Wendbridge group, though Arren was the one to speak first. "And best we hurry, I hear the steward is not the most patient of men." he replied as the group stepped within the castle itself. Sure enough, they were greeted to a dark hall filled with a multitude of people, most in some form of armor, all proceeding to a row of tables at the far end.
Behind the center-most, and largest, table was a short, thin man who could only be the Steward Dennis. His age was easily guessed, with his many wrinkles and thinning grey hair, likely from the stress he would be used to. His face was rather gaunt, with no facial hair to fill it out. The Steward was gesturing and speaking quickly to those closest to the table, and as the group approached, they could see each table marked. The Steward was currently behind the joust roster, and to the left and right were the melee and marksmanship roster respectively, though these tables were much less crowded. Now they could hear him speak in a surprisingly commanding, though tired, voice, "Pen your name and house, if you have one, and move to the next table. If you're going to be participating in either the melee or the marksmanship trials, save us all some time and sign up now." It seemed if he had been repeating this phrase far too much for his own liking.
Arren proceeded to the melee roster, being uninterested in the joust.

The Inn
Ser Donal snorted at Donnick's question. "Heh, at this point it doesn't particularly matter. Any house beats no house." he followed up, then took another gulp of his ale. "Know anybody that's going to be fighting, then? A friend or brother?" he returned.

With a quick but subtle glance at the Rosemonts, Ser Brandon stepped up to sign up for the marksmanship competition, Ser Jory waited behind Arren for the melee roster, and Ser Jon began signing up at the joust lists. Those Rosemonts signing up afterwards would see that these three were of House Wendbridge, and their respective names.

Of all the pursuits of a Noble (That is: Hunting, drinking, etc), Aemon liked jousting the least. He preferred not to entrust his success on what particular horse he got on the day. Instead, he lined up behind his Uncle and the men from whatever house they were from, and waited to sign on to the melee.
