Which merchant, that you've found, has the most gold?

Also, how long does it take for them to get money again once they've bought your stuff for every coin they had?

I'm wondering cause I'm getting tired of running around to every merchant I can find in order to sell of my loot everytime I enter a city, and I'm usually stuck with like half of it.

The problem is that merchant's never buy everything. I've really only used the Whiterun ones. Don't quote me but here's what I recall.
The chap in the castle has 500 gold and buys all magical related stuff.
The alchemy lady has 700 gold. Once you start making decent potions en masse this disappears quickly.
The Breton trader also has about 700 gold and buys most stuff.
The Warmaiden staff, either Adrinne Avenicci who's usually found outside or whoever's inside has the best at about 1000 gold.

I'm only about Lvl28 and really only explorered in a circle i.e. not intended to visit anywhere else. I was warped to Markath - drank too much, but don't recall the sole merchant their being too great. I'll double check ...

Here's a question, do you stripmine loot or have a formula e.g. loot must be worth 10x it's weight?

Okay there's a perk that enables a merchant to buy everything but why waste three of your fifty perks on something you could just as easily get around by running around some shops? Okay I admit I don't bankrupt the armoury usually but if I come away with 2K\5.5K available at Whiterun I won't complain given almost 4K is armoury. If I\somebody else finds somewhere better feel free to post here. Here's what I found when I checked my known merchants.

Whiterun
500 Gold | Alchemy | Arcadia's Cauldron | Arcadia
1149 Gold | Armoury | Warmaid | Adrinne Avenicci (usually outside) & Ulfberth War-Bear (in shop)
2642 Gold | Armoury | Skyforge (Whiterun, behind the Jorrvaskr) | Eorlund Gray-Mane
750 Gold | General | Belethor's General Goods | Belethor
500 Gold | Magic | Dragon's Reach | Farengar Secret-Fire

Markath
511 Gold | Alchemy | The Hags Cure | Bothela
750 Gold | General | Arnleif & Sons Trading | Lisbet

Falkreath
507 Gold | Alchemy | Grave Concoctions | Zaria
1120 Gold | Armoury | back of Lod's House | Lod
753 Gold | General | Gray Pine Goods | Soluf

These figures need double checking in case past transactions have impacted and they haven't recharged. Should help as a guide though. I'm skipping the food merchants, innkeepers etc, they have too little gold to be of interest.

I'm not sure if you have to join the Stormcloaks to use the Stormcloak camps (I joined before I ran across one), but they're exceptionally useful. Usually there's a quartermaster standing at a table with some gold and a willingness to buy anything.

Meaning a general merchant? What sort of gold are we talking about, 100, 500, 1000, 10,000?

I'm curious where there's a better merchant without ranging too far from the starting area and without investing in Speech. It seems like I make a trip out, fill my carrying capacity, sell whatever I can, and put the leftovers in the front cabinet in my house in case I ever get around to selling them. I don't think they're going to be leaving, tbh.

As such, when I sell, I always make sure I hit the general vendor last since he will purchase anything. The smith is always first since she has more money than anyone else, but a limited supply of what she'll buy. Magical items tend to be pricy by their very nature, so the Jarl's mage usually isn't an issue. Likewise, I find enough picked-up alchemy potions to cover the gold of the alchemist without brewing my own. And that's just in Whiterun. It's certainly no better in Falkreath, and I haven't been anywhere else yet.
