Are main quests and civil war quests interchangeable?

I'm wondering if we are free to complete civil war quests after completing the traditional main storyline.

You can keep goig, the cease fire is only for a bit

i found that if i tried to do it all before the main quest it stopped and wouldnt let me do anymore, so i started before the main quest and finished way way after, didnt have a problem doing it weeks after(game time)

So does that mean you can't finish the Civil War quest line without finishing the MQ first (even if you haven't reached the cease-fire part)?

I know for a fact if you dont do civil war quests before main quest then you have to do the truce thing and it does change the civil war quests from the guide book.

Next playthrough I'm doing the side quests/miscelanous quests first that belong to the rebellion then do the civil war quests then main quest
