I wasn't really sure if I should have put this in here, General, or UESP Site, so I just stuck it in Multimedia.

Basically, it's summer. I get bored over summer. And when I was messing around on RPG Maker, an idea came to me; what about a game about the UESP Forums? I thought it might just have been crazy enough to work. Might not work. But I just thought that it would be fun to have a go of it. I've been learning how to do pixel art, mainly spriting and mapping. I can gets me a music guy. And I know that the people on this forum are some of the most talented on the Internet.

So, would people be intrested in a UESP game? Would people be willing to help it along its way? I'd just like to see if the community thinks this is a good idea, and have any ideas of their own to add. If I was creating it, I'd have to make it an RPG, but if people want something else I might be able to attempt something else. So, what do you guys think, yay or nay?

I would most definitely play. But how would we play? :?
I can't even get a faint idea of how this would work. Enlighten me please :D I'd love to see this work.

And Nanza, "epicosity" if that one isn't in the book of Nanza words already, write it down right now. :P

I'm thinking the main character would be a newbie. My original idea, based off a dream about UESP I had a while ago (Totally not sad, right?) would happen in a "bad future" UESP where spambots and spammers had taken over the forums and wiki, and most members corrupted by viruses. I really didn't come up with anything concrete yet, waiting to see if people would be willing to try such a thing.

And it would be just an RPG, similar to Final Fantasy. (The reason I used Final Fantasy because it's well known and has the turn bar thingy and that's the only one the version of RPG Maker I have has.) Once it was ready, you would download it, install it, and play it using your computer.

The main problem I see with this is that a forum is an ever-changing thing, so members and fads would come and go. My main idea had the past and present mods being the bad guys from being corrupted by all the viruses. (Don't deny you're all really sentient computer programs. I've known about it for a while.)

And before I get buckled down and see what I can hammer out quickly, I have a question for people. Is there any particular kind of spriting people think the game should have. My main experience has been with sprites in the style of a series called Mother, but I've also worked with Pokemon, Final Fantasy and Secret of Mana ones. Please share any of your thoughts about anything for the game.

Sounds interesting enough. I suck with that internet box thing though, so I'd probably only be able to help with the narrative or the score. And seeing as you've already got the narrative down and a music guy, I don't know why I just bothered to say that.

I don't know anything about RPG maker, and it's nearly 11:30 so I'm not going to be doing any research tonight. But if you need or want anything, this sounds like it could be really interesting and I'd like to have a hand in it.

Which one are you using? 2K, 2K3, XP, or VX?

I'm using 2K3. Not the most powerful one, but the best free one. I envy those who have unlimited tilesets and more custom engines. Still, I've seen 2003 do some pretty good stuff, and it's the only one I have a clue how to use. I've tried the other two with free trials, but it's too scripting heavy. I found the biggest problem with them is if you make one slip, you can spend hours trying to fix it.

Well, at first I hated it. That was mainly because the help file was in Japanese. Once I got a English help file, I started to see how everything fitted together. One of the first things I did was take a game and dismantle it in 2K3, see how it worked. I'm getting there, but I'm not absolutely brilliant at it. I'm really more of an jack of all trades with stuff like this. I've tried a few projects, and worked on a few projects, but nothing like this. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes, eh?

I call being the hermit who mentors the main character in how to fight the corruption and later turns out to be a really powerful wizard/hacker/whatever the "glass cannon" class will be.

I think it sounds like an interesting idea and I'd definitely stay tuned for more details. Just so long as Duruza is a good guy that is.

I can see it now, me and Weasel holed up in the Morrowind Forum as spammers try and tear down the Great Houses 8).

Edit: typo

What were your ideas for locations in the game? Because I was thinking of using different parts of the Forums and treat them as actual buildings. Like the "Oblivion" section could be a building. The Wiki could also be included as a library if possible, but a huge library infested with trolls and those people that mess up the wiki with troll-ish edits.

That sounds good. I began working on a Morrowind Mod about the UESP and I had the idea of representing each forum with a building, with different areas/rooms for subforums.

I do like the idea of using buildings, but just buildings might be a bit restrictive. Maybe different parts of the forum could be different? The main problem I'm having here is what they would look like. Naturally, the starting point of the game would be the Welcomes and Goodbyes thread, as I can't think of anything more suited. Anybody got any ideas to what it would look like? I think a building would indeed suit that place, but please, tell me your ideas!

You should make it like the Seyda Neen Customs and Excise office. Complete with bearded man (I volunteer) and Limeware platter.

I've got a question now. If the game features different members will they be restricted to different areas. Some of us get around a fair bit, so will we just get placed in one spot if we are included?
