Spoilers for the main quest, although if you're playing spoiler free I commend you for making it this long

I beat Daggerfall recently and I made up my mind to give the totem to the first person who sent me a missive about it, although I really wanted to pick Gortwog. To my delight he got to me first so I booked it to Orsinium and let the orcs take over High Rock.

Why orcs? Well, when I was delving into Orsinium for a quest, an orc attacked me, and after fighting back and killing her, I found a copy of the book The Pig Children on her person, and I felt SO BAD about it. Here was a thinking creature, literate, who wanted to know what the world thought about her race and got nothing but xenophobia in return. I set my mind right then that if there was a way to help Orsinium rebuild, I'd do it.

Who did y'all pick? And why?

Myself. Even if that isn't a real option, so I end up giving it to the Emperor (Lady B, on his behalf)

I was making an off-handed comment about just waiting out the entire in game year.

I gave it to the King of Worms.

You have to give it to someone to win the game, and at the time I just wanted to win the game and be done with it. I heard there was a bug that ruined your save file if you just gave it up to the King of Daggerfall after stealing it, and the other rulers couldn't decide whether they wanted the Totem or to kill me, so I just went to Scourg Barrow and offered it up.
