Kvatch is a city in the Gold Coast region in southwestern Cyrodiil, between Anvil and Skingrad along the Gold Road. It is built atop a large bluff, raising the city above the surrounding landscape. County Kvatch extends far to the northwest, up to the Brena River at the border of Hammerfell.

The city was home to an arena, the imposing Kvatch Castle, and the Chapel of Akatosh, but was overrun by Daedra emerging from an Oblivion Gate.

For more information about Kvatch, see the lore article.

Notes[edit]

  • Kvatch is the only city to not have a written guide by Alessia Ottus.
  • The city has a destroyed arena, further evidence of the original plan to have arenas in every city.
  • The ruined building that touches the chapel's fallen steeple is internally known as kvatchRuinedGuild. The outline of the distinctive Fighters Guild shield and swords symbol is still visible on its destroyed doors. This implies the ruined hall once housed the local guild chapter. However, none of its members are found in the refugee camp outside the city.
  • While the local Mages Guild doesn't have a clearly identifiable building, one of its members, Sigrid, escaped to the refugee camp. It would also appear that all members of the local chapel survived the attack.
    • With the Wizard's Tower official download installed, you can gain access to portals to all of the Mages Guild halls of Cyrodiil, including to the one in Kvatch. However, this particular portal is inoperable, since the guild was destroyed. Attempting to use the portal will result in the message "The Kvatch guild hall is no more."
  • The version of the Kvatch worldspace used at E3 still exists in the game files and can be accessed by using the console command coc e3kvatchstart. All cell names are shown as the default "Wilderness".
  • Kvatch also appears in ESO.
