Welcome[edit]

Hello! Welcome to UESPWiki and thank you for the work you've been doing on the Tamriel Rebuilt pages. It's always good to have new members. It looks like you already know what you're doing but you still may find the following links useful:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

  • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox and don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors if you need any help. Have fun! --rpeh •TCE 12:04, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Sidebar Links[edit]

I noticed your "wish list" on your user page... if you want, find me in the IRC sometime and I'll explain to you how you can customize the sidebar. --GKtalk2me 03:01, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

It's not working =/ Looks like everything I entered is right but it's just not showing up on any browser I try. -Zhukant 03:55, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
It's in the wrong place. You need to move it to User:Zhukant/monobook.js - you'll need to do it yourself (or get an admin to do it). rpeh •TCE 06:15, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, friend! In truth I think I actually lost the original code, and I'm fine with the default one by now anyway! Unrelated—I saw you found yourself in a room whose article I contributed to. Good memories! And, incidentally, great photo! zhukant (talk) 07:01, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Namespace Templates[edit]

I've noticed a few cases where you've replaced links to Morrowind pages with the {{MW}} template. I'm afraid this is another case of what's a good idea in one place being a bad idea in another. That template, along with {{OB}}, {{SI}} etc are useful shortcuts that make it easier to add links when editing. Actually, they aren't as useful as they once were since [[MW:Balmora|]] works just as well. On the other hand, the {{TR3}}, {{TR4}} and {{TIC}} templates should be used. The difference is that those refer to sub-spaces rather than full-blown namespaces. It's possible that the sub-spaces will be moved somewhere else at some point - it already happened once with the TIC stuff, for instance - so linking by using a template is a good idea. The full namespaces are really, really, really unlikely ever to move so it's more efficient to use direct links. rpeh •TCE 08:05, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! I understand completely =] Is there any way to fix all the ones I've screwed with so far? -Zhukant 08:09, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Already done :) It's one of the regular tasks my bot undertakes. rpeh •TCE 08:13, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Sweet =D After reading about the "power of the wiki programming" I just knew it would be something simple. Whew! -Zhukant 08:34, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Hey![edit]

First of all, hey and nice work on the TR3 pages - they've been in desperate need for some beefing up! You may have noticed I mistook you for another user and ended up posting this stuff on his page... To read my painfully bad excuses, see that discussion :P On a more positive note, I just have a quick tip for you.
I've just put a fiximage tag on an image you uploaded, so I thought I'd explain further. For place images we tend to use a 4:3 size ratio (e.g. 1200x900) so it would be great if you could resize your image (or take a new one). As it stands, the image is a bit dark, try pushing up the brightness or gamma and then giving it a quick touch of contrast. Happy editing and keep up the great work! --SerCenKing Talk 09:10, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Hey SerC! Nice to meet you and thanks for the comment =D
  • I noticed the fix image tag earlier! Thanks for further explaining that, I'll see what I can do about it, though I must tell you I'm no photographer. In a pinch we could even simply scrap the image altogether since (as rpeh said) it's not even that important of an article anyway, but if I can get it right, I'll be sure to re-upload =]
  • I completely understand where you're coming from on using the preview. I try to do that as much as I can, but those few times I wasn't going to be able to see the effect in the preview (for example, editing the javascript to mess with my side menu, or trying to get the tags right so that a transclusion works correctly in a different article). I knew the effect I was having on you guys so I felt like a jerk but I didn't know how else to do it =X I should have probably asked an admin to do it for me that time haha. Sorry! I guess in my defense I could point out that I (am pretty sure that I) submitted the Bal Oyra article all in one go, despite the many links and transclusions &c. that it had =D I felt proud of that.
Anyways, thanks for stopping by! I feel so loved around here bahahahah <33 Do you ever go on the IRC, SerC? -Zhukant 10:19, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
No worries, the Show Preview thing was more for the other user :) When you're editing .js there isn't any other way, and plus we can't even patrol them (some wiki problem) so you're excused :P I do go on IRC, and I think I'm Channel Half-Operator (it comes with the Patroller status I think). Unfortunately, I'm on a bit of a hiatus due to exams so I'm not likely to pop in until early July :( --SerCenKing Talk 10:26, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Hey SerC, attempt number two at the black ogre tavern photoshoot! =] See if that works now. -Zhukant 11:17, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
That's great! I removed the fiximage tag accordingly. If you could do the same for the Mages Guild Relay it would be perfect! --SerCenKing Talk 11:28, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
I just did that one too. It was harder because if I flooded the room with light it lost the effect… I hope it's bright enough? It's hard to get that 4:3 proportion in such a small space =Þ -Zhukant 16:38, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Jeez, you guys are putting a lot of time into that picture ;] I bet Bal Oyra never expected to get all that sudden attention… muahaha -Zhukant 17:52, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
