Items Pages Systematization[edit]

There is more common page, Buyable Magic Items. May be it is better to delete Oblivion:Buyable Magic Armor and place Redirect?

And the same for:

Delete Oblivion:Buyable Magic Weapons, place Redirect to Buyable Magic Items.
Delete Oblivion:Other Buyable Magic Items, place Redirect to Buyable Magic Items.
Merge Oblivion:Magic Items into Oblivion:Findable Magic Items.

I can do it, just need to ask you before.

…or the pages, I pointed, should be split and replaced with lists. Also it is needed to put categories and trail templates. User MXI 02:30, 4 May 2006 (EDT)

Every page that starts with "Buyable" or "Findable" should be deleted. All their content has been copied into the new system, which is outlined on my user page. As other users have commented, these two distinctions are not practical systems for organizing Oblivion's items. --Thehankerchief 04:04, 4 May 2006 (EDT)
Well, let me know when you finish, I could help with creating redirects, templetes, categories and other cleansing. User MXI 04:51, 4 May 2006 (EDT)
I'm done copying from the old pages, so you can delete those. Most of the pages are done from the standpoint of transferring old data to new data and general layout, so feel free to go about modifying them. If you want to make a template, perhaps you could template out a nice page for the daedric artifacts. It could be a bit challenging since they vary from weapon to armor to misc items. The Oblivion:Daedric Quests page has established links to articles on most of the individual items, but their formatting and content are not uniform, so a template would be great. Also, that list doesn't include secondary items in the quests like "Umbra" in Clavicus Vile's quest, which I think most people would consider to be an artifact. The artifacts page I think should simply list the artifacts as imported pages (or whatever they are called in wiki-speak), like:
{{Oblivion:Goldbrand}}
{{Oblivion:Volendrung}}
Combined with your template, this should make the Oblivion:Artifacts page functional and aesthetic.

Any pages that you think are now ok to be deleted should use [[Template:Delete]] to indicate they're to be deleted. Just insert {{delete|why=reason for page to be deleted}} into the page. Sysops regular check the delete category to delete pages flagged this way. -- EndarethTalk 22:41, 4 May 2006 (EDT)
This is exactly what I was going to say. Only administrators may actualy delete pages, regular users may only delete text and replace it with Redirect command. Now I'll delete links to the old pages, replace them with Oblivion:Items at least, then put the Delete template to the old pages. User MXI 07:06, 5 May 2006 (EDT)

Just wanted to thank you for filling out the details of the new items I put in (and moving some of them to the proper pages). I have the Xbox360 version so I can't work out how to get the item console codes. All the stuff I've entered is loot I found myself. I've also put a couple more items in today. istara 22:42, 20 May 2006 (GMT+4)

Page Deletion Request[edit]

Because the content you requested for deletion has a considerable page history, we probally should merge the old page histories into the new pages. This way, the people who worked on the older pages will still get the attributions that they deserve. This works by deleting the new pages, moving the old pages onto the spot where the new pages where deleted, and undeleting the new pages.

To do this, I need your help. Could you please match the old pages that you marked for deletion with the new pages that you created? --Aristeo 22:10, 27 June 2006 (EDT)

I see you just redirected the pages, are you happy with that status, or do you want to try to go ahead with the move? --Thehankerchief 20:11, 1 July 2006 (EDT)
I'll just keep them redirecting. --Aristeo 20:20, 1 July 2006 (EDT)

New Items Page Proposal[edit]

Since nobody seems to have done much regarding the generic magic items, I've started on the project. See my proposal at Oblivion Talk:Magic_Items. I've got a proof-of-concept page started at Oblivion:Generic_Magic_Items. I was told you might be working on something similar, so I just wanted to check to see if this is going to be stepping on your toes at all. --TheRealLurlock 19:31, 30 June 2006 (EDT)
