Quick question[edit]

Hey there! I just noticed that the images on this page seems to have been placed in the wrong sections. Since you did the images on the page, I wanted to ask you if you also took an interior pic of the Office (where Damian lives)? I have searched for it, but I can't find anything. --Krusty 14:36, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Nope. The interiors are all so bland that it was difficult enough finding two! I just slapped the images on to break the page up - with the captions, I didn't think it mattered that much exactly where they went. rpeh •TCE 15:31, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I see. No problem then. --Krusty 15:47, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Oops[edit]

I accidentally patrolled this TR3 edit. As I recall, you're knowledgeable about TR3. Can you verify that the info is accurate when you have a sec? Thanks! Robin HoodTalk 16:10, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Looks good to me! rpeh •TCE 16:46, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

archiveing?[edit]

hi! i wanted to do some arciveing on my page and got stuck...so like what do you name the page? do you make it User: or something else?--GUM!!! 20:27, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Look here I have a tiny bit of experience in archiving so i your stuck ask me btw what page is it? --Arny 20:32, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
my talk page--GUM!!! 20:46, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
mabye you didn't get what i got what do i call it?--GUM!!! 23:03, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
If it's your own page it doesn't really matter what you call it. I do it by month, others do it sequentially. rpeh •TCE 05:24, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
I think the question was what namespace it goes under, for you GUM!!! it would go under User:GUM!!!/*name here* Mikeyboy52 05:43, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
ok thanks!--GUM!!! 13:54, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

hmm...[edit]

Are images of letters allowed? If not, is there any way that you can think of to have a daedric (actuall) font? I couldn't find out how MikeAKA Mike 16:57, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

There is an actual Daedric font on the Daedric language page but other people have also had problems getting it to work. (I think the images you're using in your signature were actually uploaded as a result of Corevette not being able to get the font)--TheAlbinoOrc 17:04, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
(e/c)You could use HTML and force the File:Obliviontt.zip to be displayed, but that would rely on people having it installed. Eg, RPEH. But I'm afraid that wouldn't be allowed either. The purpose of a signature is to show other users who signed a comment, not to look l33t. It should resemble the name of the user it represents, and Daedric letters don't. rpeh •TCE 17:05, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Using it isnt the problem, the problem is linking the images to my userpage while using the font. MikeAKA Mike 17:06, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

So even with the AKA Mike id need to get rid of the daedric font? ug, hours wasted. Ill go ahead and change it. I got some wiki-editing info out of it anyway. MikeAKA Mike 17:09, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Ask an admin. This is just my opinion. rpeh •TCE 17:11, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
As you were a previous Admin (and should be in the future, in my opinion) I know your almost guarenteed to be right, so I'll just archive the signature for now. If most think its ok that daedric be used in signatures, ill go back to this one. I think it might, a bit might at that, go through. Simply because of the games on this wiki. MikeAKA Mike 17:18, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
I was wondering if you thought that *perhaps* embedding the font onto the signature page was possible. Mike/|\ 20:06, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Font-embedding is iffy at the best of times, and I'm afraid it would create far too much data to be realistic for a signature. There are plenty of things you can do with simple HTML and CSS. Drop-shadows for instance (if your browser supports them). Take a look at a recent CSS reference and see what takes your fancy. rpeh •TCE 20:14, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
I've almost mastered HTML but css always escaped me, do you know anyone that could do it? Mike/|\ 20:17, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Why does it says this TheAlbinoOrc is an invalid raw signature check HTML tags.--TheAlbinoOrc 20:21, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
(e/c)There's a good CSS reference here - that's got a lot of the pretty stuff on it. There are also clever things you can do with Unicode characters. (ʎlʇɔǝɹɹoɔ ʇı ǝǝs ʇ,uoʍ ǝldoǝd ǝɯos ǝuıƃɐɯı ı ɥƃnoɥʇlɐ) sıɥʇ ǝʞıl sƃuıɥʇ op uǝʌǝ uɐɔ noʎ
But, as I said earlier, it's not about looking cool: it's about making it clear who a comment is from. Don't go overboard. rpeh •TCE 20:23, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
@TheAlbinoOrc... I dunno. Sorry. rpeh •TCE 20:23, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Lore Refrences?[edit]

So what does this require? Is it just going through the CS and the game or is more required?--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 17:04, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Actually, almost none of it comes from the CS - the Lore comes from the Books, materials supplied with the games and, to a lesser extent, dialogue. If you take a look at some of the pages I've been working on, such as Lore:Ra Gada or Lore:Septim Dynasty you'll see what I mean. rpeh •TCE 18:07, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Strange Morrowind Spell Bug[edit]

Can you take a look at the discussion that's been going here? There seems to be something wrong with the formula.--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 19:31, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

I don't know how any of the site's formulae were derived. To be honest, I've never found it to be particularly useful information - it's not as if you're going to be using a calculator in the middle of combat or anything. I'll try to take a look if I have time. rpeh •TCE 08:45, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
Don't worry too much about it. Since I realized right after I posted this that you have a big notice at the top of your page telling everyone that you aren't on here that much right now, I thought it might be wise to enlist other help anyway.--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 13:57, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Chokeberry[edit]

Hi there. I added the statement to the Chokeberry page with my rationale explained on the talk, which made points that were not countered. To paraphrase, saying that the apples are more functional is not opinion, see the talk for the full details Corvus 14:50, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Yes I saw the entry on the talk page but depending on how you want to argue this, it's either still just your opinion or it's not worth mentioning anyway. Your entire argument is based on the fact that the apples are zero-weight and chokeberries aren't. So what? You can have to remove all other food and drink in an area to get the apple to work. The only difference is that you can put the applies in somebody's inventory and you can't do that with the berries. That does not matter. You can simply leave either item lying around in the open and it'll get eaten.
We could add a similar note to most ingredient pages stating that, for instance, a piece of Root Pulp is "more functional" as a Cure Disease item than an Elf Cup Cap because Cure Disease is the pulp's first effect and can therefore be gained simply by eating it. That would be just as silly as adding a note about a poisoned item's effectiveness. rpeh •TCE 15:06, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Ok, firstly the second half of the argument is fairly defunct, it's another non sequitur thaat has little relevance to the issue at hand.
Secondly, I believe that it is worth a mention. This site attracts a lot of inexperienced users, and even the experienced ones can learn. Even I've learnt stuff from here, and I've put in hundreds of hours. Therefore, a little bit extra information does no harm. In addition, the apples can be more functional by reverse pickpocketing. This is because it is generally a more failsafe technique than leaving food around. Two reasons. Firstly, it is highly unlikely that the wrong NPC will eat the apple if it is in another's inventory. Secondly, and this may be wrong but the first point alone makes up for it, I believe that NPCs check their inventory for food before the environment, meaning that it is less important if a bit of food is missed by a player. Like I say this may be wrong, CS may say otherwise. Cheers Corvus 15:22, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
NB, you say it doesn't matter if you can't reverse pickpocket so it isn't worth a mention, that is your opinion also, so there is no need to omit Corvus 15:23, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
No, it's not my opinion. The AI mechanics mean that if there's no food in an NPC's inventory they will pick some up from the local area. Therefore it's not opinion to say that there's no need to mention it, it's fact. In any case, I can't be bothered arguing with you any more. If you want to fill the site up with information that's neither use nor ornament, go for it. You'll find I won't be the only editor who reverts your edits though. rpeh •TCE 15:44, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
That makes no sense as the AI going to the inventory first backs up my point. But no matter, I don't have the time or the volition to argue, if I do re-add it in the future it'll be as a note or something. On an unrelated note, I just brought back Vicente Valtieri using the console. Him and Arquen reminisced about raiding a carnival together. Do you know if this is standard dialogue? Corvus 15:49, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes, that's standard dialogue for the Dark Brotherhood. In theory, any of the residents could deliver that line. There are five groups of dialogue lines (DarkSancTalk1-5) that link together. Somebody will say a line from the first group, their friend will reply with something from the second group and so on. The carnival line is from DarkSancTalk3. rpeh •TCE 16:00, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Just to add my 2 coppers worth with reference the Chokeberry: The page has always pointed out the fact that it cannot be reverse pick pocketed due to it having a weight. The point of contention as I see it, is if that fact then requires the page explicitly stating that the Chokeberry is the Poisoned Apples inferior. Jadrax 17:13, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

We provide the facts. The articles clearly state that one item can be reverse-pickpocketed and the other cannot. It should be left to the readers to decide which is more useful for them. --GKtalk2me 18:28, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
How about something neutral, like: "It should be noted that Chokeberries cannot be reverse pickpocketed, so some players may find it easier to user poisoned apples, to prevent the wrong NPCs being accidentally killed"? This provides facts and would add to the article, I feel Corvus 19:18, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
The edit I made to the article notes basically the same thing. Feedback would be appropriate on the chokeberry talk page, so we can stop sending rpeh "Your Talk Page Has Been Edited!" notices. ;) --GKtalk2me 19:49, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
