Edit Warring

Please do not continue to revert another editor's reversion of an edit, as you did on Oblivion:City-Swimmer. This is edit warring and it's both disruptive to the site and goes against the idea of consensus. You should discuss the change on the talk page first. In this case, I decided not to give a warning because it was your first edit and Silencer suggested that the next revert (which can't happen now because I protected the page) would result in a warning.

I find it interesting that I was the clear culprit of the edit war when Silencer seemed to partake just as much as I did, especially since you seemed to agree with Silencer's revert to begin with. Nevertheless, I'll be more than happy to follow protocol with any further disputes regarding character pronoun usage and compulsory cisgenderism. Robsyourhouse (talk) 21:59, 24 January 2019 (UTC)

It's because you were the one inserting speculative/incorrect information and you did not bring it to the talk page when asked, whereas Silencer did. For example, if an editor were to claim that City-Swimmer traveled to Bruma every month, it should be fine for someone to always revert back to the correct original text, but not okay for the original editor to continue adding the false info. There is no "compulsory cisgenderism" by the way. For example, look at some of the characters in ESO's House of Reveries. —Dillonn241 (talk) 02:03, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

(edit conflict) I don't think Dillon meant to make you out as the "culprit" so much as he was just making sure that you were aware of wiki policy on these things, since you're new here. We already know that Silencer is aware, since he'd been around the wiki for many years. That said, technically speaking, you were both in the wrong, and either of you could and should have taken it to the Administrator Noticeboard once the third reversion had happened. As outlined on Wikipedia's policy about edit warring, however, our primary objective is to stop an active edit war, which has now been done, so I don't think any further actions are required. The discussion is now happening on the talk page, which is appropriate. – Robin Hood  ^(talk) 02:08, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
