Kylius Lonavo[edit]

Hey there! Thanks for adding info to the Kylius Lonavo page. However, I have a few comments; first of all, it seems like there is something missing from the inventory description - which helmet and which shield? Also, what kind of weapon does he use? Finally, Light Armor should link here instead of the skill. Good work, though! --Krusty 18:18, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. I meant that he has a set of light armor which does not include a helmet and a shield. His weapon is always an enchanted claymore. About the link, I didn't know. Thanks for telling me. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 18:53, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

defense of bruma[edit]

What do you want tob ask about defense of bruma (Vvardfell 12:54, 23 October 2010 (UTC))

In the quest Through a Nightmare, Darkly you do not have to keep someone alive. If you mean Henantier, his case is totally different from Martin's, Martin is been attacked by hordes of Daedra while Henantier just wanders around. The only way for Henantier to die is to kill him yourself while Martin can be killed even if you don't interfere. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 15:09, 23 October 2010 (UTC) P.S. Improving your grammar a bit can help.

Thanks[edit]

Oops! Thanks for removing this. I forgot! Robin Hoodtalk 14:51, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome. I spent more than half of my time at the Wiki watching Recent Changes and when I noticed it, I removed it. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 14:56, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

52th?[edit]

On your active status, it say "52th" Lol. Sorry, just couldn't resist. Lucil Hellsing 16:30, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

If you want to be sure it always reads right without having to worry about what the proper ending is, try {{Ordinal|52}}, which would give you: 52nd. Robin Hoodtalk 16:41, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for telling me. I don't know what "Lol" means. Can you explain it? By the way, RobinHood, thanks for the template. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 16:45, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Umm....Lol means "Laugh Out Loud" A popular term in which shows humor. Lucil Hellsing 16:54, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. By the way, do you know what "owned" and "pwned" mean? I guess they are the same thing just one of them has a grammar mistake right? --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 16:58, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Owned and Pwned is a term used when ONE person supposedly bests the other in either a battle of wits or strength. Pwned is just a humorous refence to the word. Lucil Hellsing 17:02, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 17:07, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Nonsense[edit]

Please be careful when accusing editors of adding nonsense as you did here. Just because you don't understand an edit doesn't mean that it's not valid. In this case, all that was wrong was that the user put it outside the table rather than inside. It took me less than two minutes to test in-game and determine that the edit was accurate. rpeh •TCE 16:20, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

I didn't accuse anybody. I just told them that I couldn't understand the edit (the "nonsense" part) and that I removed it. The sandbox part was already in the message so I deciced not to remove it. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 16:40, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
I went ahead and deleted the whole talk page - no need to dwell too long about it. Rigas, please be careful in the future. For a brand new user (anon or not) it must be really degrading to get a message like that, especially if your edit is valid. Once again, if you are in doubt, leave it to the patrollers. --Krusty 18:14, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
You're right, it is degrading. About leaving to the patrollers, I noticed that the list of unpatrolled edits grows large lately which means reduced patroller activity. I am on the Wiki a lot of hours a day (13 hours today, some of them logged out), so I believe I should do such things when there are no patrollers online. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 18:52, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Test[edit]

Please can you stop spamming links to your test across the site? If people want to take it, they'll take it. Posting a link on the talk page of everybody who edits the site is just annoying. rpeh •TCE 18:38, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

You're right, but I just want to spread it a bit. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 18:45, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Mentorship[edit]

I've removed your name from the list of available mentors at Mentor Program. Though you meet all the calculable requirements, I'm afraid you're not familiar enough with the wiki to be able to mentor a new user. There have been too many recent issues with your edits. That's not to say that it's uncommon; it takes a while to figure out all the workings of the wiki, all the things that aren't (or can't be) written in clear text. I'd suggest you simply take some more time to watch the how things are handled and make a few more mistakes, because that's really one of the best ways to learn what not to do! ;) Just don't be in a rush, enjoy your time on the wiki, and it will come soon enough. --GKtalk2me 01:16, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Stop with the copyright violations[edit]

If you copy/paste information from the Bethesda site one more time you'll get a warning. See the copyright page on Bethesda's site where it says "you shall not duplicate, download, publish, modify or otherwise distribute any material on this Site". You directly copied and pasted information with almost no changes, which is against the law as there's no way it would fall under "fair use".

Yes, the Stormhold page needs more information but NOT just copied from somebody else's site. rpeh •TCE 07:48, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

If I customize the information more, would that be legal? --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 07:50, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Please just leave it. There's already a link to the page on the Bethesda site so copying information from there - even if it's reworded slightly - is pointless. rpeh •TCE 07:59, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Again! No more copying from the Elderscrolls.com website, please! The official FAQ for Dawnstar is copyrighted, and adding some kind of copyright info to the text does not fall under "fair use" either. The FAQ, btw, is useless for Dawnstar players - if I thought it was of any use, I wouldn't have removed the link I made. --Krusty 07:41, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Stormhold[edit]

Hey there! Since you added the info; The game features first-person view for the first time in a wireless phone., and as a result, the info received an annoying VN-tag, could I ask you where you found that info? The only thing I can find is on both the Vir2- and elderscrolls.com pages, where the description is: First-person view puts you into the action like never before on a wireless phone. Since there is a huge difference between the two statements, and because it seems weird to have a VN-tag on an otherwise completely unfinished page, could you; A: Remove the statement in case you misread the information on the mentioned pages; or B: Provide a link to the info you are quoting? Thanks. --Krusty 06:00, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

It seems I misread it. All done now. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 06:04, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

where can i take your test?[edit]

Thedrunknord 01:36, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Here. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 06:38, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Hey there![edit]

In case you are wondering; Check out this topic on the QuestsWritten-part of the ONPCRP. --Krusty 16:31, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

I cannot understand what you mean. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 16:35, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
You just marked a non-existant quest description as checked on the ONPCRP-tag, so I cleared the entire thing from the tag. Quest descriptions are meant to go in the introduction, not just the usual Related Quests-links at the bottom of the page. --Krusty 16:45, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
But she is involved in that quest, just the Wiki doesn't have a page for it. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 16:50, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Tamriel Rebuilt[edit]

Thanks for the edit to Garnos Otheril's page. There are a couple of things to bear in mind though.

First, please use the {{TR3}} template when linking to other Tamriel Rebuilt pages. It will make life much easier if we ever decide to create a proper namespace for it, and it's easier to type too.

Second, I've been deliberately leaving Map 2 NPCs as stubs for now. That map doesn't have any quests on it and not all its unique dialogue is written, so it's impossible to make sure everything about an NPC is included. Although the same is true to a lesser extent for map 1, enough is in place to make writing NPC pages a realistic prospect. In Garnos' case you're probably okay as he's just a trainer and any quest involvement will be easy to add, but it's something to watch out for. rpeh •TCE 14:28, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Dawnstar[edit]

Your latest edits in the Dawnstar namespace have made me a bit concerned. Do you actually own Dawnstar? Have you actually played it? If not, it is best if you avoid editing stuff you don't know about; because mistakes will inevitably arise, as I can tell you by personal experience. How can you be sure of the correctness of this, this, this or this edit or have the confidence to make a new page without having played the game? Now, all of this may be irrelevant if my assumption is incorrect - but seeing as it's not mentioned on your userpage, I thought I'd drop a hint: don't edit stuff you don't have an in-depth knowledge of. --SerCenKing Talk 18:06, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Minister, I have to tell you, I don't find a good reason to not edit stuff I don't have in-depth knowledge of, because everything I write in this case is based on what persons that have in-depth knowledge with that stuff wrote. See here for example. I know that rpeh changed same of the things I wrote, but I destubbed an article about a mod I know nothing about, because I never played Morrowind. About Dawnstar, all I did was to add some extra info that I based on Krusty's writings. About the "Camp Ward", Krusty calls it "Camp Ward" and not "Safe Camp" at Dawnstar:Magic Items. There is no need to worry about me making a huge mistake that may give totally incorrect info, because my edits are based on what editors that have in-depth knowledge on that stuff. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 18:33, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
You are missing my point. Sure, you can edit stuff you don't about by relying on other people's work, but it more efficient in terms of quality and accuracy that you focus on namespaces where you have actually played the game. Editors are fallible, so it is best to know your stuff rather than copying something that may be mistaken. I know you're just trying to help out, but it is better to leave specific editing to people who have first-hand knowledge of the subject. --SerCenKing Talk 20:03, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
I understand your point. But it is a little boring to try to limit my edits to Oblivion namespace just because it is the only TES game I "really" played (by really I mean that I also own and played "Arena" and "Daggerfall" but I am stuck at the starting dungeon on both.). I prefer to "open my wings" and do edits wherever I find that they are needed. Since the Dawnstar namespace is a bit empty (besides Krusty's work), I am trying to expand it. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 20:17, 13 November 2010 (UTC) P.S. You missed a "know" between "don't" and "about".
I agree with SerCenKing. You're copying stuff from one page to another and that's never a good idea. Dawnstar:Gehenoth is entirely copied from the Getting Started page, and is probably not going to be kept if that's all the information about it. Editing is one thing, but creating pages is probably best left to Krusty who has actually played the game and knows what things are important enough to require pages.
As far as errors of grammar are concerned, I would suggest that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. rpeh •TCE 03:19, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
While I’m unsure about the purpose of the Merchants and Champions pages, I’ve decided to leave the newest additions for now. The Gehenoth page is really bare-bones, but until I find out more (and somehow manage to make a better image), let’s just leave it for now.
Rigas, the very important thing to keep in mind is that the entire namespace is under construction and contains a myriad of smaller mistakes at the moment. Nobody but me knows about these mistakes, but an example could be that the Peddlers actually do NOT just stick to Heavy or Light Armor – if you take a look on the Armor page, you will notice that only cuirasses are defined as light or heavy. All other types of armor fit somewhere in-between and can not be considered special – and the Light and Heavy Armor Peddlers sell stuff like greaves and boots as well. This little discovery means that I have to change all the NPC pages and somehow explain the whole background story about Armor – and is a perfect example of how incomplete the namespace is at the moment. --Krusty 07:40, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Reanimate[edit]

The points me, Corevette and rpeh are trying to make are two:
1) The topic is not about whether it is intentional or not, it is concerning the discrepancy between the colours different users see (which means it IS 99.99% unintentional). Furthermore, it is a forum-like post which does not belong on a wiki talk page.
2) Restarting a topic after 6 months to add a useless comment (as explained above) is a sure revert.
Please take care to ensure you understand why two patrollers reverted a comment before undoing the changes. --SerCenKing Talk 17:30, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Namespaces[edit]

The "Dapel" namespace was where DaveH kept various personal projects before he moved them to a separate wiki.

The "Tamold" namespace has a rather more complex history as explained below.

Please, please will you start using the Search facility rather than asking people to explain things? Search for "Dapel" and you'll get this.

Search for "Tamold" and you'll get this and this as well as other pages that detail the history of when we renamed what was our "Tamriel" namespace to "Lore".

It's good that you're interested in UESP, but if we have to explain everything to every interested editor that joins the site, we'd never stop. Use the Special:Search page, and make sure you're not just searching for titles, and all the site's history will be available to you. rpeh •TCE 20:48, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

I know this is a fairly bare answer, but thanks for the info. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 21:18, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Land Mine Bug[edit]

Have you been able to check the bug with disappearing land mines? - ZuTheSkunk 14:29, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Sorry for not answering, Oblivion is so addictive that I forgot everything and started playing. The results are: I tried it at 3 different Oblivion Gates, but I wasn't able to replicate it. The Mines just go back at their position, and they work normally. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 14:59, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I've made a video that shows how it exactly looks. Check it out, please. It happened with the first land mine I encountered, and as you can see, it happens with other one too. - ZuTheSkunk 19:12, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
I'll try to replicate it again, although it could be a mod issue, I noticed you have OOO (or you don't?). --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 20:10, 18 November 2010 (UTC) P.S. I subbed, sub back please!
I do use OOO, but from what I've checked, the mine's script remains the same in vanilla and OOO. I'm using UOP, which fixes the bug causing the land mine to not make any explosion after 24 level, but from what I remember, the disappearing bug happens also without UOP. (Oh, and I've subbed back of course, thanks.) - ZuTheSkunk 21:15, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Well, I can't check right now (I am on my laptop), so I'll test it tomorrow after I get back from school. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 21:26, 18 November 2010 (UTC) P.S. Thanks for the subbing.
Just one more question - are you absolutely certain that the sentence "The mine will disappear the instant it casts the spell" is correct? For me it looks like lacking for comma or something like that... - ZuTheSkunk 22:38, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
Yes. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 22:40, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations![edit]

You are now officially a UP - now get to work and archive this talk page! :D --Krusty 23:37, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

SORRY![edit]

SORRY! About the multiple edits. I'm a serious multi-tasker on two computers. I type out everything before hand, get it just so, then go, 'Why preview?'. Then five minutes later I think of something to add or fix, and so on. I just did that dumb one on the Boots of Springheel Jak page. Again, sorry. What I need to do is write something then take a break and come back to see if it is right. But my stupid computer and net connect randomly times me out sometimes.

No problem, such things are natural for new editors. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 12:23, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Just another Question[edit]

Sorry to bother you, could you tell me how to create useboxes please. Thank you --Manic 17:34, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

No bother at all! Here are instructions on how to create userboxes. If you can not understand much, just tell me. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 17:38, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your help it is appreciated. Do you know if the console contains a command that forces NPC's and creatures to follow you? --Manic 17:54, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Question[edit]

Hey Rigas, I just noticed the question you asked SerCenKing. Do you mean how to change your characters appearance so that they look like another NPC? If so, I know the answear. Jayden Matthews 15:49, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

No, I didn't mean that. I mean this:
At the start of the game, you start as Bendu Olo. However, the race selection menu comes up right away, so that you can change your character's race, e.t.c. What I meant, is if it is possible through the use of the CS or the Ini settings, to not start as Bendu Olo, but as, lets say Raminus Polus. Instead of starting the game in prison, you would start where Raminus Polus is, and you will had all his spells and equipment. You would have been a different person. Get it? --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 15:55, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I see what you mean. I'm not sure about that one. I know how to copy an NPC's face on to your character, and obviously you can use the cs to add whatever spells and items you want to your character. If you give me a minute I'll see if I can figure it out. Jayden Matthews 16:01, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
No, I don't mean to make your character exactly the same with an NPC. I mean that you will be that NPC. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 16:03, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Mmmm, I don't think it can be done. The closest I can get to is making your character identical in every possible way to the desired NPC, and then kill them and take their place. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Rpeh might know. Jayden Matthews 16:18, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
I've asked rpeh. but he has not take any action, so I suppose that it is very complicated. People that may know are Kivan (but he is inactive) and Arthmoor (who is active). Perhaps I'l ask Arthmoor. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 16:25, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
No you didn't ask me, but the answer is: No. rpeh •TCE 16:27, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
I did asked you. I provided a link here. Although I just saw that the link didn't fully work. Nevermind. So, it can not be done? Too bad. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 16:31, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

hey[edit]

i just noticed u on pages and stuff i figure we are close to the same age... anyway i just wanted to know how you get those boxes saying how long you have been using the wiki and that stuff. I am a huge fan. I am currently looking for articles to expand on and was looking for someone that can relate to me a little bit better and appreciates Oblivion as much as I do. Ascaffo 22:38, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Not a Forum[edit]

I shouldn't have to remind you now that you're a Userspace patroller, but UESP is not a forum. If you want to talk to TLOSpyrogirl, swap email addresses or do it on the forums. rpeh •TCE 20:59, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

I thought it was okay because I patrolled all the edits by TLOSpyrogirl there. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 21:02, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
That's half the point, but not the whole point. It's impossible to see what's going on if RecentChanges is swamped by a conversation between two people. You've been doing a great job on userspace patrolling, by the way. Just please take personal conversations off the wiki. Try a private channel in IRC. rpeh •TCE 21:05, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
I see. Well, thanks for the praise and the info. I now really see how hard the work of a patroller is. I am limited at userspace patrolling, so it is not that hard. But I can imagine how it is to check the Recent Changes and find 50 edits that you have to patrol. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 21:11, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Blanking[edit]

Hey there. When users blank or delete their own questions, it is often because they figured out the answer themselves - or realized that it was an "uneven" question (for lack of a better word). Undoing these edits is therefore not really necessary, and I will Speedy the page in a few minutes. --Krusty 08:08, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

FYI[edit]

No big deal, but since I'd noticed you make the mistake a couple of times I thought I'd point you to some clarification. --GKtalk2me 04:11, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I know I make it wrong sometimes. Nothing serious though. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 08:22, 5 December 2010 (UTC) P.S. What do you mean by FYI?
