Accidents Happen Quest Images[edit]

I uploaded new versions of the quest images - are they suitable? mxk101Talk 15:57, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Yup, they're great! Thanks once again for all the good work! Feel free to add a (FIXED) to the Accidents Happen on this list -and feel even more free to go through the list for other missing images. :) --Krusty 16:19, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Quest Images[edit]

Can we sort out the image list thing? I hadn't noticed that you'd copied the OB images to a separate sandbox, but it's going to get messy if we both have separate lists. I've marked my sandbox as "anyone can edit" so if you want to copy your OB list over mine, that's great - or I can transclude your sandbox 4 into my sandbox 1. Which do you prefer? rpeh •TCE 19:46, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Sorry; when I went on my little reformatting spree last night I just copied the OB entries from your Sandbox to keep track. And ended up taking notes, making image suggestions and so on, and then just lost control. In theory, however, I think the notes are good for inspiration so for now, I'm going to delete all the "FIXED" entries from my Sandbox - and then we could transclude the rest to your Sandbox? --Krusty 19:52, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
'kay. I'll do that now. rpeh •TCE 19:57, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
I just deleted the most "personal" comments from my list (things like "I have no idea") and left it blank. And you were right, we need all the creative ideas we can get for the Training pages. Alawen is brilliant, though! :) --Krusty 20:06, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Our April Fool Story[edit]

The Bethesda forums picked it up almost immediately. Looks like most people appreciated the joke! rpeh •TCE 15:26, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

It was a good joke. Messed my brain up. :P JackTurbo95 15:35, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
Good times - it was pretty obvious it was a joke, but the header must have made some impact. :) --Krusty 16:57, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
It was cos it was on the main page. I was even going to change the Skyrim release date =D JackTurbo95 17:03, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
It should probably come off the front page now. GK took last year's joke off once the 1st was over. rpeh •TCE 08:19, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
I was wondering about that. All done. --Krusty 08:23, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
Well we certainly caused a splash! Now we can start thinking about next year's joke ;) rpeh •TCE 08:31, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
You can say that again! :D Anyway, I'm going to keep the story SP'd until the protection expires; no harm in that. Again, good times! --Krusty 08:41, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Algot the Annoying[edit]

Hey Krusty! How's everything going? After getting almost physically sick with chemistry revision I decided to take a little break and see if I could help with any CS problems lying around. In case you didn't notice, I answered (correctly, hopefully!) your questions on Algot's talk page. Tell me if you need a bit more info to check the schedule! :) --SerCenKing Talk 12:38, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Hey SerC - good to see you! Everything is going just fine, although real life tends to disturb my Wiki-contributions these days. Your observations (and bug-related opinions) on good ol' Algot are spot-on, so I have updated the page accordingly and checked that schedule once and for all. For good measure, I'll reply on Algot's talk page as well. Hope to see you around some more soon - and careful with all that chemistry. It can destroy your brain! --Krusty 14:10, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Alright so I felt like doing some more investigations tonight and I managed to gather some useful info, see my replies here and here. I also thought I'd mention Ruslan's and Luronk's Itius Hayn dialogue, as I hadn't addressed it on the page.
Basically, I think the dialogue conditions are fine, it's just that they'll simply never talk to Itius (as I think you also gathered given their problem's description). There may be two reasons for this. Firstly, the conditions on their AI packages: NOT DONE Stage 70 + either DONE Stage 80 OR DONE Stage 70. Now I'm still a bit rusty on the CS so there may not be a problem here, the switching between satges confused me however. Most importantly, however, is that they physically don't reach him. Both of them look for him in the Guardtower at 8am, when in fact he's patrolling around the Elven Gardens. Secondly, the duration of the package, 1 hour, is barely enough for them to reach the tower; as both are at home.
Unfortunately, today has been a bit of an outlier. Tomorrow I'm going to have to get cracking once again, fully focussed. Hopefully the info here should save you and anyone else (i.e. rpeh) looking into this a decent amount of time. Take care. --SerCenKing Talk 21:48, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Wow! You return briefly, but with great power! I'm going to add some bug descriptions tomorrow. Also, an ongoing Ruslan/Luronk investigation can be found here, so, as you can see, I already bothered rpeh. ;) --Krusty 22:03, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Haha yeah, and guess what, I thought I'd also solve Ancus Afranius. XD He's got the same problem as Algot basically, with the difference that his package is flagged as "Must reach location". So he heads to his target, the Count, and either once he reaches him or when he leaves the inn, he'll head back inside. That's because he has the same 400 unit leash as Algot as well as the other condition of being in the inn. Supposedly the reason why he tries to go back to the Count repeatedly (should be once every hour, or when you force a package evaluation) is because he's got that "must reach location" nail in his head. Hope this helped :) --SerCenKing Talk 22:05, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Blocker Request[edit]

I would just like to re-iterate what seems to have been ignored at the Noticeboard. I always seem to be on when a short block could help a situation, and no admin or Blocker is on. You seem to be the most active Admin I see on the wiki, so I thought I might come directly to you. --DKong27 Talk Cont 00:38, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Not really "ignored" - I managed to forget it, so thanks for the reminder. Don't hesitate to remind me if you need something done, especially if you see me react to topics on the AN just below yours. :) Nevertheless, the reason you are around when vandalism takes place is that you are around when I'm sleeping. Even when Rpeh gets his admin rights in a few days, he will basically sleep at the same hours at me, so I hereby grant you Blockuser rights. We really need an active Blockuser in your time zone, so welcome to the team! --Krusty 06:33, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Lucien Lachance Update[edit]

Just thought I'd let you know I went through the Purification section for Lucien. Let me know what you think. Dlarsh(T,C) 17:13, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Excellent work as usual! I tweaked a few things (the bold poisoned apple-link always annoyed me, layout-wise), but overall it is great and shows a lot more passion than my boring ramblings. Keep it up and thanks! :) --Krusty 18:52, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
This section seems good to post this under: I checked out the LL page and I've noticed the dialogue line "It is a virgin blade, and thirsts for blood. May it serve you well, as does your silence. Now, I bid you farewell. I do hope we'll meet again soon.", and the "as does your silence" only applies to your "Say nothing" reply, while this line is put under every reply. Also, there is no link to Sithis and the Night Mother, which I think should be there. Only other thing I could bring up, but which isn't an issue, is that it immediately jumps from quest to quest without a line such as "You won't see Lucien Lachance until..." or something similar. Just thought I'd let you know, and other than that it looks great ~ Dwarfmp 11:53, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for looking through it! You are absolutely correct; it needs more links (I noticed it last night when I deleted the hard-to-kill-notes), so I'll go through the page one more time later on, as I also discovered the Epilogue section to be rather pathetic and a poor way of ending the page. Also, the idea about pushing"the story" forward by adding links to the next quest section is always a good one. I'll see if I can make these changes as well. But right now, Syl is my best friend! :) --Krusty 12:01, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Casta Scribonia's bugged schedule[edit]

Hey Krusty! I was wondering if you could do me a favor? I was about to write Casta Scribonia's schedule when I noticed she had a problematic schedule, or at least my interpretation of it was problematic (I am not the best at interpreting CS data). She has two tasks for her schedule designated for the same time, noon. One has her visit Orok gro-Ghoth (Who should be found at the castle at this time I think), and the other has her visit Orag gra-Bargol (Who should be at the chapel of Stendarr).

This was obviously accidental as the tasks are named:

  • CastaScriboniaVisitChapelOraggraBargol12x2
  • CastaScriboniaVisitCastleOrokgroGhoth14x2

Which clearly indicates her visit to Orok should of started at 2pm. If I had to guess I think that she would visit Orok during this glitched period of her schedule, but since you are the NPC stalking master I wish to ask you to find out for me what she does at this time.

Besides that she another contradictory schedule at 6pm that would have her eat at the Oak and Crosier, and another that would have her visit Renoit's Books. Once again this seems to have been a mistake by the developers judging by the tasks names

  • CastaScriboniaOakCrosierEar20x2 (Note this is the one where she is supposed to eat, they misspelled it as ear)
  • CastaScriboniaVisitRenoitBooks18x2

If I had to guess I think that her visit to the Oak and Crosier would win out here over the other package. But once again I am not quite sure though on what would happen. I would do it myself but you are much better at this kind of task, and I unfortunately have been quite busy recently. Any help with this would be appreciated. Of course if you are busy as well I will get around to it eventually. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 00:07, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Sounds like a fun challenge! The time is 2.30am now, but I'll take a thorough in-game look tomorrow morning! --Krusty 00:33, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Okay, this is just as complex as expected, as she obviously suffers from a lot of “classic” weirdness, all of which has been encountered before. First of all, when she is at home and awake she will ALWAYS detect you and ask you to leave, regardless of 100% Chameleon and what have we. The only way to see her in her house is to be there at 6am when she wakes up; another oddity is that she will just stay near her bed until you leave the house and THEN warp to just outside the house, unwilling to pick up any of her packages until you leave the zone. Good times!
Anyway, I can’t say what she is supposed to be doing when she is at home, but this is the in-game schedule:
6am: Gets out of bed and stays in the house; behavior unknown.
8am: Wanders around near the South Gate, regardless of weather
12pm: Actively seeks out Orok gro-Ghoth, who will be on the move at the time and will emerge from the Arch Tower behind Vilena Donton’s house. Stays in place after talking to him.
2pm: Returns to her house; behavior unknown
4pm: Visit to the Mages Guild; and, as far as I can tell, seeks out Contumeliorus Florius in the basement.
6pm: Dinner at the Oak & Crosier (yep, she’s eating)
8pm: Returns to her house, behavior unknown.
12am: Goes to bed.
Now, the fact that she always kicks you out of the house is probably a bug also experienced when visiting her neighbor, Ariela Doran. Also, the fact that she “stays in place” after a single chat with Orok is a problem we encountered recently (the NPC name escapes me, though), but its got something to do with the package name. Also, if she was supposed to visit the Chapel and the Bookstore, it is worth investigating what went wrong; and add a bug note. Good luck! --Krusty 08:08, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
According to the CS, she uses the "DefaultHomeOwner" package when at home. Which means she just wanders around. Legoless 10:06, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
The whole finds you no matter what while at home would probably be caused by the "CastaScriboniaOwnerFollowXx1" schedule package. Which has her follow the player whenever he/she enters her home or basement. But as I said it is a weird schedule, and it clearly bugged. Thanks for the help! --AKB Talk Cont Mail 16:06, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
No problem! I'm not sure her habit of throwing you out is worth mentioning, but the two other appointments should be added as a bug - or something. :) --Krusty 16:14, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks.[edit]

Thanks for blocking that guy , I didn't know who to ask ! =D JackTurbo95 13:54, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Did you see the new WIP SLIP?[edit]

Hey Krusty, did you by any chance happen to peek at the master page for your Modryn Oreyn page (Sandbox8 unless I'm mistaken)? Like it? Feel free to modify it, it's the first truly active use of the Wipsandbox template. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a byte, or perhaps a nybble. - Neural Tempest 14:14, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Yep, I saw it; great work! I posted a few comments here! :) --Krusty 14:18, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Featured Images[edit]

This is in reply to your essentially dictatorial comments on the FI talk page. We are not paid to edit the wiki. We edit in whatever manner we enjoy; telling us to "get back to work" is not something anyone on a wiki can demand of someone. If for some reason you don't like the system, don't participate. Griping about discussion when it is essential to the hashing out of progressive guidelines is not going to help anyone. Wikis are about consensus, and you are doing everything in your power to overreach that policy. Elliot (talk) 03:40, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Oh sure, I get it. It will NEVER happen again. I apologize. Welcome back, Elliot - we haven't had this much bickering in 12 months, and believe me when I say this: I WILL kill this featured-image crap if people continue wasting time arguing about nothing. No doubt about it. Rpeh and I thought it could be fun and inspiring with a featured image-section, but so far it has been a load of crap and a throwback to the "good old days". Believe me - we can kill it as easy as we created it and then it is back to work anyway. --Krusty 03:52, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm glad to see the site hasn't gotten to you. Guidelines still need to be written for it; I'm just saying you should relax until that time comes. If there are still issues after the guidelines have been written, then say something. Opposing an image because two people have a discussion is senseless and even a more waste of time than "arguing" (half of which you seem to have now created). Elliot (talk) 03:59, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

I took your advice[edit]

And I formatted the page so the quest summary is after the intoduction. If you have any advice on what I can add, I'd really appreciate it. I'll have a lot of free time over the weekend to work on it. --The Para 20:32, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Brilliant! Please note that I actually liked your design - problem is, we are so far with this project that we can't change the format now. Page looks really good - I have a save near his prison cell - let me know if you need the exact in-game dialogue. And one thing that always bugged me: If you don't unlock his cell, will he stay there indefinitely - or will he still find his way to the Arboretum?--Krusty 20:47, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure actually, I know the first time I found him I left him there, I never saw him again, but I never really looked for him. I noticed most quest summaries have in-game dialogue, I wasn't sure if it was necessary though. If it is I can always check the construction set. --The Para 20:55, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
In-game dialogue is a part of the OBNPCRP - everything unique must be included. With Larthjar it would start with (something like): When approached in his prison cell, Larthjar will hopefully ask: "Are you here to rescue me?" - and so on, until the entire story has been told. When doing dialogue, it is always a good tip to have the game and CS running at the same time - most often, dialogue were recorded but never used in-game, which makes it very hard to do from the CS alone. For "simple" NPCs it is possible - for hardcore-NPCs with tons of dialogue you really need to run the game at the same time. Hope that made sense - I'm really tired. --Krusty 21:02, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

() It made pretty good sense. I'm not planning on doing any major chars yet though. I'm sure I can get by on the CS for Larthjar. --The Para 21:14, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Fine. Just let me know if there is anything I can do to help. --Krusty 21:21, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
I've added the in-game dialogue, what do you think of it? --The Para 21:30, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
Looks fine - and correct (if I remember his dialogue right). I would probably move some of the entries around - but keep going until you have everything done, then we can take one final look at the layout. --Krusty 21:43, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

It says you protected Pennus but an IP still editted it.[edit]

Just a heads up that it might not be working. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/User_talk:156.34.25.170 was the most recent to do it.--Catmaniac66 01:03, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Just to clarify, it was only a week's protection. an indefinite protection may be necessary though. Also that IP went all to vandalize a lot of pages, please use your administrative powers at your discretion to deal with this vandal. That was a very fancy way to recommend a block by the way. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:32, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
Ah, Im an idiot. I saw "semi-protected" as the most recent edit, then saw edits below it vandalizing it, then saw a vandalizing edit above it, I assumed it was more recent. Yes, I had to ignore the huge DECEMBER 2010 thing, but hey, I was seeing vandalism, give me a break :-D--Catmaniac66 02:41, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
No need to be worried, I've made this mistake before as well. Oblivion:Pennus Mallius might need a more permanent protection though, apparently anything that somewhat reminds people of genitalia is fair game to the vandals. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:47, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, looking at the history of that page, I really think it needs a 5 or 6 week semi protection.--Iamgoofball 03:04, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm not going to semi-protect a page because it sounds like penis. And you can quote me on that! :D --Krusty 04:44, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Herdir's Dialogue[edit]

I created his conversation with Kithlan and uploaded it here as I saw it was being discussed somewhere. Does it sound okay? mxk101Talk 22:24, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Hello! Brilliant work - I was thinking about asking you to do it, but was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of dialogue. I just listened to the example and it sounds great - maybe a bit "loud", so if you have the chance, you should lower the level 3db or something like that - just to prevent it from...hmm, don't know the english word, but you probably know what I mean. Still, it is nothing serious, so don't break your neck doing it. Once again, it is really good - and a brilliant addition to the Wiki. If you could handle all four interrogations, a crispy cookie will land on your desk(top)! Thanks again! --Krusty 22:45, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
I have uploaded all four interrogations. mxk101Talk 19:23, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Really cool stuff and incredible work - now, as I wrote here, just go ahead and add all four links to the Notes section of Herdir's page. You can either choose the wording I suggested (which is pure guesswork anyway) or your own words; after that, each of the "victims" should have a link in their respective notes sections. I'm not sure if it should be on the quest page just yet, but the NPC pages will definitely benefit greatly from these sound bites. Thanks a lot for a splendid job! --Krusty 19:39, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Adventurer Dialogue[edit]

Ok, so here we go. I've done Lewin with a mix of CS and in-game and I think I've figured out exactly what triggers the various lines, at least for the first room. I'll get round to Syndelius and see if I can hack Grommok too :) --SerCenKing Talk 15:59, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Ah, I can see you are done with all three. I'll try and make time for yet another venture into Xedilian later tonight. Pretty tough project we have here! ;) For a bit of variation, I'll see if I can check a place page as well - rain is pouring down anyway, so why not? --Krusty 17:09, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, Syndelius should be good but I'm not 100%. Grommok on the other hand I did not finish because just from the CS I couldn't be sure. If you could pop in, it would be great :) --SerCenKing Talk 19:51, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Okay, just checked the Gnarl room ten times and the dialogue is correct; unfortunately, I can't trigger any of his fighting dialogue ("They're everywhere! Get them! Get them!", "We're going to die!" and "This is impossible!") - so my question to you is this: have you heard these lines in-game? --Krusty 13:00, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm, I might have heard "This is impossible!" but I'm not sure about the other ones. Since I didn't include fighting dialogue on the other two pages, I'll removed it. --SerCenKing Talk 13:17, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
Exactly! For some reason, the subtitles disappear when all the Gnarls arrive, making it damn hard to hear anything. I think the page is better without it. --Krusty 13:47, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Symbols of Office Bug[edit]

Hey, I noticed that you removed the bug I added into the Symbols of Office and Roots of Madness articles. On what basis do you claim that the bug is not true?? I personally tested what caused it on the PC after suffering the bug myself, and at least two other people on the article's talk page clearly encountered the same problem. Weroj 20:38, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

I tested it and it was wrong. If you can describe how to trigger the supposed bug, I will take a second look. --Krusty 03:55, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, it's not as simple as I thought. Speaking to Haskill in the palace does complete the Symbols of Office quest. Instead, you need to summon him outside of the palace, which results in basically the same dialogue, but Symbols of Office remains open (e.g. get the staff from Dyus, and immediately summon Haskill after the quest has updated).
After that just ignore the tainted Font of Madness and head into the Fountainhead. Weroj 12:37, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I'll take another look. Sounds complex, though - so I'm not sure if we should even mention it. Still, if it prevents Symbols... to be completed, it's worth looking into. --Krusty 06:59, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
Ah, okay, got it. You'll summon Haskill outside the Palace, which will start Roots of Madness and keep Symbols of Madness active. You'll then have to ignore the Font of Madness and enter The Fountainhead. Next question from me, though - will the quest stay there forever, or will it be completed the next time you touch the Font, e.g. after have cleaned the Pools of Madness? --Krusty 07:46, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Nope, it stays there forever. Weroj 05:57, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Hostile Creature Post[edit]

Sorry to bother you but can you explain how my post here http://www.uesp.net/w/index.php?title=Skyrim_talk:Skyrim&diff=682508&oldid=682507 and qwertyone's post is "Forum-like" Fin Dova Feyn 12:48, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

The notice at the top of the page says: "Nearly all discussion of the unreleased game should be held on the forums." and "Please keep all speculation, wishlists, etc. restricted to the forums." The game is due November 11th and you were discussing AI, which nobody really knows anything about yet. Sorry, but while I appreciate your enthusiasm and the occasional healthy discussion, the UESP is really not the place to do it. --Krusty 13:27, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
Yea but an interview with Bethesda has revealed info on there A.I. and stated my example as an example of that as well and what about the other user he is just saying the elk is like deer in Skyrim which has been stated as well Fin Dova Feyn 14:24, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Check User[edit]

I was wondering a bit about the powers of the Check User rights. I know it allows for the using of the Special:CheckUser page, and this could be helpful for checking for blocking or other purposes similar. I see that only those with administrative privileges have this ability. I wanted to ask if it might be possible for me to get this, to assist in my Patrolling an Blocking powers. I understand though if it is considered an exclusive power. --DKong27 Talk Cont 22:02, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

I think it is Admins only. It is a fairly useful tool, but I rarely use it - trouble usually comes from anons and it is a bit rare for vandals to create multiple accounts. As for the availability, I'll get back to you. --Krusty 22:13, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
