Welcome![edit]

Hello! Welcome to UESPWiki Benolds. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

 • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox and don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors if you need any help. Have fun! --GUM!!! 13:22, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for the welcome, I've been reading for ages, and figured i might as well add anything wherever i can. Hopefully I'll be able to fit in here. I've only got Oblivion, but if and when Elder Scrolls V comes out, you can be sure i'll make myself get it ASAP =)Benolds 20:01, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Your welcome! It's always nice for someone to say Thank You!(Most people don't) Just to tell you, you didn't have to start a new section you could of just added it to the other section ;)!--GUM!!! 20:06, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Just felt like the right thing to do =) Juding from the informal response i guess you have a template to work from but you still do it yourself, so it's only fair for me to thank you =)Benolds 20:57, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

OBNPCRP Question[edit]

You said above that you were helping wherever you can, so have you ever heard of the OBNPCRP ?--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 21:44, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

I've often seen it around, like on Falcar's page the other day, i only have Oblivion on the Xbox 360, but i'm ill at the moment so i have a luxurious time on both... I can help wherever i can, so if you have something i can do, I'll try my best to do it =)Benolds 06:55, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Welcome to the project! Just to clarify a few things other new members have had problems with: unless the NPC does not provide something (such as services for most NPCs or dialogue for dead NPCs) you have to actually write what they have on the page not just in the box. In-game information must bee checked by someone in the CS and the other way around. Also don't provide a full signature in the box, if possible please simply link to your userpage. Well I think that's all.--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 16:25, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the welcome, and btw- i like the new shadow on your name =) As i say, i've been reading this for ages, so i know the basic style about what you're expecting, only one thing i wasnt quite sure what you meant by was noy having a full signature and linking the box to my userpage... A little explanation will help here, thanks again,Benolds 16:45, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Linking just the userpage would be done like this; Benolds. Just add that to the template at the top.--Corevette789 16:59, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
I understand how to link, i just wasnt sure what i was being asked, when (s)he was talking about a full signiture and a link... Does (s)he mean that when i say that i did it, just put a name link there? Sorry, but i would rather ask here than muck up the forums...Benolds 17:13, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
I see, do NOT use the 4 tildes like a regular signature. Just type exactly the link above.--Corevette789 17:14, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Oh, okay, thanks for clearing that up =) Benolds 17:21, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Another question, sorry, but on the OBNPCRP pages how do you edit the yellow boxes, the 1st paragraph and what sections it needs to be in (Example:-1) Thanks Benolds 19:58, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

So if I add the services GK adds the house contents and AMM adds the dialogue the it looks like this.

So if you add their inventory contents you would put

Which automatically removes the NPC from all the unwritten and put them into the unchecked categories for house contents, dialogue, services, and inventory contents.--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 20:28, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Thank you again, but how do i put it in the yellow box at the top of the page? Or do i just put it anywhere in the page and it will update? And do i do the smae thing to update the 1st paragraph, as there is no edit button that i can see... Benolds 20:38, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Pages with the yellow box should have the template as the first thing in the page (just edit the page and you should see it) - edit the template that is there RandomTime 20:43, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Ahh... I see where i went wrong, i have been clicking the small blue link next to the sub-headings, and i forgot about the tab at the top... Thanks you very much, i see now =) Benolds 20:47, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
By the way, I notice you keep adding <font color="Blue"> and </font> around your sig after you edit. You can get this to happen automatically by changing your sig settings in Your preferences. Just change the sig to read <font color="Blue">Benolds</font> and check the box that says "enable raw signatures. RandomTime 20:51, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
ahh, thank you again... Felt kinda stupid to do it over and over... lets see if it works... Benolds 21:06, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Of course it doesnt... Trust me to get the simplist of things wrong... Im afraid this is my first time using these settings, ive only ever sed BB-codes before =( Benolds 21:06, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

() Click the little Raw Sig box again.--Corevette789 21:00, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, you need the raw sig box ticked, it seems to be changing the < tags for the unicode version, that will go away if you hit the "raw sigs" button RandomTime 21:02, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Okay, the box is ticked, the bar filled... *prays for it to work...* Yays =) Thank you to all of you, Benolds 21:06, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
(Edit Conflict) Also you said you liked the drop-shadows on my signature earlier so while you're working on yours, here's the code for mine:
<span style="font-family:Lucida Handwriting; text-shadow:grey 0.2em 0.2em 0.4em"><font color="MidnightBlue">TheAlbinoOrc</font><font color="MidnightBlue">Got_a_question?</font></span>

--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 21:07, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

And if i may, i might use one or two of the effects, thank you again, all Benolds 21:09, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
You can also make text look like it's burning RandomTime 21:11, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Wow. I'm going to go try that.--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 21:13, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Fire >:-) Sweet as =) Benolds 21:16, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
