Before asking a general forum question, be sure and check out our Forum Wiki Page and the Forum Rules & FAQ. Please do not leave personal details about your account here, as this is a public space. Hey Avron, it's easier for my to give you the links here than use the horrid PM on the forums. This is most of the basic stuff, me or a Mentor can help you if you want to go more advanced. You can PM me, email me, or even use my talk page on-wiki (I watch all three like a hawk) :)

My Welcome message (note: the bit about the forums :P)

Welcome to the UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

  • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Or you can use the 'Signature with timestamp' button above the edit box. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or create your own sandbox here here and then clicking 'start article'. You can discuss the games at the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun!--Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 20:09, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Those are great links and very informative! I shall read them all faithfully. You're too great, Kiz! Thanks for helping me get started. --Avron the S'wit 00:20, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

My case[edit]

Well I took a long break after the perma ban and thought about what I did and came back when I thought I could be responsible enough to deserve to my forum privileges back. This is why I told you I was banned a year ago and asked if I could come back--Candc4 (talk) 01:59, 29 September 2012 (GMT)

Hey there, Candc. Let me discuss this with the forum staff. Typically we give you so many chances before banning you with the intention that you learn to be responsible. But let me talk to the other moderators and see what the decision is. I may come back to ask you for more information; feel free to e-mail me as well. Thank you! -- Avron the S'wit (talk) 14:29, 29 September 2012 (GMT)
Hey Candc. As of right now the moderator team is going to keep the permaban. We have a hard time reasoning with users who are given a lot of PM guidance and break the rules with dupe accounts. But we may be willing to reverse this in the future. Avron the S'wit (talk) 16:39, 15 October 2012 (GMT)
Came back a few months later to check up on this anything new?? --Candc4FTW (talk) 13:32, 6 February 2013 (GMT)
Sorry for the delay Candc, I was out of town! Let me check with the moderators and I will get back to you in a few days, all right? -- Avron the S'wit (talk) 18:21, 15 February 2013 (GMT)

Please. I wasn't trying to antagonise him. It was harmless fun. I'm in tears right now. I love UESP. Please don't do this to me again.

I'm assuming this is you, Cardbird? Making dupe accounts doesn't help your case; they are strictly against the rules. Please remember that you were given a lot of PMs and reminders to keep the sharp tongue in check. Right now you are going to have to sit out your ban - at this time the moderator team feels the ban was appropriate. I'm sorry. Avron the S'wit (talk) 16:39, 15 October 2012 (GMT)

I just wanted to say sorry for those events in October. I realize I can be a bit of an arse at times, and I also realize that I broke that amount of trust the team placed in me when I came back the first time. UESP is one of the greatest sites/forums out there, and I'm lucky to be a part of it. And no, this is not an attempt to appeal my ban once more, I would not dream of seriously asking again until I personally felt I could be mature enough to interact with other forum users in a respectful manner, which I currently am not. -Cardbird

ZOS Interview[edit]

Hi, I'm not sure how far you and Daveh are in reviewing the questions that have been collected for the interview with Zenimax, but I thought I'd mention in case you didn't know that Tamriel Foundry has recently produced a video which provides some answers. Most notably to the one about "Will players be confined to their Alliance areas?" (from 4:11) to which the answer is Yes; and about combat reticule/"tab-targeting" (from 2:33), which basically seems to come down to targeting will be similar to single-player TES with a reticule, but to ensure the target is not lost, they can be hard-locked with TAB.

Other notable things are about the megaserver phasing, and how you'll find your friends (0:58); the world size/scaling "Skyrim in [ESO] is going to be the same size as Skyrim in [TES V]", and how much will be available at launch (4:33); weapon abilities and skills (4:52); and spells (5:24).

Also, since there is a definitive answer about Alliance areas, I'd like to withdraw my question extension "What will happen if we try to enter another Alliance's land?" in favour of something more useful, as that was just designed to be a get-around question if there wasn't a straight answer to the first.

Thanks :)
Enodoc (talk) 17:46, 14 December 2012 (GMT)

Thanks, Enodoc! Naturally we did run into some overlaps with information, since we started collecting questions on the forum a bit earlier, and there has to be some weeding through them. But this was exceptional information and I thank you for it a great deal! --Avron the S'wit (talk) 15:51, 24 December 2012 (GMT)

Hi! I absolutely can help you with the problem, but you'll have to give me your e-mail address so I can look into the database and either retrieve an old account or delete it so you can start fresh. You may not want to share that publicly, but you can e-mail me through the wiki or at uespforums @ if you'd like! -- Avron the S'wit (talk) 03:53, 10 January 2013 (GMT)
ok well my email is im saying it in public is because its on my profile The Tamriel Terror (talk) 04:20, 10 January 2013 (GMT)
Hmm, we don't have anyone in our system under that e-mail; can you try again and send me a screenshot of your error? -- Avron the S'wit (talk) 04:23, 10 January 2013 (GMT)

So you also know, fellow admin Musicman247 sent out e-mail reminders to inactive accounts, so if you did sign up with another username forgotten you should get an e-mail about that. Let me know if that helps! -- Avron the S'wit (talk) 16:22, 10 January 2013 (GMT)

Social Media pages[edit]

Hey! I'd be willing to do Q&A about lore, Morrowind (the game), ESO, general wikiness, anything of that sort. Also, any other general Q&A I could take a crack at :) Jeancey (talk) 21:18, 22 August 2013 (GMT)

Boarding the train here: I too would love to be interviewed, and I'm definitely available for Q&A. I've played a good deal of vanilla Skyrim, half of Morrowind, and I know absolutely everything there is to know about Oblivion and most of its DLC. :) --¿Vulpa? 00:59, 23 August 2013 (GMT)
Late to the show, but the powers that be at the UESP Facebook page (presumably you) said to poke you on your talk page, since I was curious about what would be going on with the editor interviews and stuff, and that seemed like something intriguing to me. So, here's the late poke about it. -damon  xoxo 22:50, 6 October 2013 (GMT)
Thanks guys! I'm definitely going to be reaching out to all of you. I just have to find some web space to host these interviews and work out the logistics. --Avron the S'wit (talk) 14:48, 29 October 2013 (GMT)
A Google Docs page comes to mind as decent. Just fill out a text document with the questions, share it to who you want it given to via email, let them edit the doc to put in their feedback. It's how I do it when I want to collaborate on mods or other projects and it works well enough. Then, you could just copy/paste the complete text to wherever you want it to go, or direct link the doc as a public, non-editable link for the people to visit after it's been filled. -damon  xoxo 06:38, 10 November 2013 (GMT)
Ah yes, I have the questions in a Google Doc form, I was just debating where to host them. AKB gave me some good ideas though! Look for me to send you a link to the interview in the next few days! (And get everyone else to do it, too!) --Avron the S'wit (talk) 22:52, 15 November 2013 (GMT)

A little problem about forum registration.[edit]

Hello, I have recently made an account on the UESP wiki and am currently trying to create one for the forums. Registration went along fine, but I can't seem to receive the activation e-mail in my mail box. I already found that the problem is known, but I can't seem to get around it. I 'd be glad to receive some advice from you, as a forum moderator, and if not possible be redirected toward someone who could help. Thanks in advance. --Redondepremiere (talk) 17:50, 22 March 2014 (GMT)

Avron the S'wit is no longer a forum moderator. However, I have activated your account for you on the forums. Thank you for reporting your issue with registration, and I apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused you. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 18:02, 22 March 2014 (GMT)

Thanks, and sorry if it may have bothered anyone. --Redondepremiere (talk) 18:52, 22 March 2014 (GMT)
