Signing Talk Pages[edit]

Hi! I happened to notice while patrolling that you have entered seemingly random numbers as an IP address when trying to add an attribution to your talk page posts on three different edits. As a courtesy to other editors, please sign your posts on talk pages and other discussion pages by simply adding four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comments. Another easy way to do this is to click the signature button above the edit window (it's the second-to-last one in my browser, and says "Your signature with timestamp" when hovering over it). If you are not logged in, your IP address and the date will then be automatically added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. If you prefer to keep your IP address hidden, please create an account and edit while signed in. This will keep your IP address hidden from other users. Either way, please do not replace your valid IP address with other random numbers, as this behavior can seem suspicious and there is no reason to do so. Thanks. — ABCface 22:11, 9 July 2013 (GMT)

Hi again! I noticed you are still having trouble with signing talk pages, and I want to apologize if my post above was confusing or unclear. Thank you for not putting in random numbers anymore as you did in the past. I'll try again with an explanation on how to sign in the future. There are two easy ways to sign your comments:
1) You can simply click the signature button (looks like this: Help-Signature button.png) located just above the editing window where you enter your message. On my browser, it is the second-to-last button in the series of buttons above the editing window.
2) Alternatively, you can type ~~~~ (that is four "tilde" symbols; the symbol is usually on the top left side of American-style keyboards).
Hope this helps! (And don't be too worried if you still have trouble with it, there are enough editors around who will mark the attribution for you if you don't do it yourself.) — ABCface 03:28, 25 September 2013 (GMT)

Advice[edit]

Hello and welcome to UESPWiki! Thanks for your interest in the wiki. If you would like to experiment with how to edit, you may want to try editing in our sandbox. Making test edits to UESPWiki articles disrupts those pages and forces other editors to spend time making sure everything has been cleaned up. You may also want to look over our style guide and Getting Started guide. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. ThuumofReason (talk) 20:28, 2 June 2014 (GMT)
