Latest two images[edit]

Hiya. Those two NPC images (:File:OB-NPC-FalanuHlaalu.jpg|here and [[:File:OB-Mercator Hosidus.jpg|here]]) are well-posed but they're a bit... murky. Interior shots are tricky but you might have better luck if you can push the NPC closer to a light source and avoid strong lights in the background. The :File:OB-place-Bravil Chapel of Mara.jpg|Chapel shot is pretty good but again a bit dark. It's only NPC images that need to be square too - place images are usually in 4:3 (eg 1024x768) although that's not a big deal. Good to see another artist on the case though! –rpehTCE 19:40, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the tips, I'll try to get better shots of those two and of some others as well :) --MC S'drassa T2M 22:10, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Time for another cookie![edit]

You have been given a cookie!

Your dedication and diligence to the wiki has not gone unnoticed. A user has seen the progress you've made, and has given you a cookie because of it. Good work! The user had the following to say:

Keep up the good work with the wiki, addressing things other editors have missed, and thanks for your detailed answers to so many questions! --Timenn-<talk> 13:57, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Timenn! Sorry for the late reply, I am a little busy powering my OB character to investigate some quest-dependant dialogues :) --MC S'drassa T2M 18:16, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Master Pages[edit]

Hey, there are already pages for the training (such as OB:Alteration Training). They are currently redirects. But you just need to replace them with the quest content. –Elliot talk 02:43, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Sorry about that, hopefully I have corrected it now :). --MC S'drassa T2M 02:59, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Templates[edit]

Nobody's going to hate you for experimenting with templates so don't worry about that!

If you want some advice, let me know what you're trying to achieve and I'd be glad to help. I had to go through a similar learning process a while back. –rpehTCE 00:45, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks rpeh! I was just kidding, although I know the patrollers will have a hard time. And what Im trying to make is a template similar to {{User Race}} but with the skills. I'm almost done except that I'm having some trouble with heavy armor, light armor and hand to hand because those having more than a single word. Any help would be appreciated.  :) --MC S'drassa T2M 00:51, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay, my version is here. I've used some of Nephele's wonderful extensions but at the moment it still doesn't work with Hand to Hand. Either the image needs renaming or a redirect from "OB:Hand To Hand" to "OB:Hand to Hand" needs creating; after a while, you stop worrying about tweaking the template and look for better solutions. –rpehTCE 01:33, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Wow,thanks! But before I do any redirect, is it really worth making this userboxes? I intended that once I got them done, place them in UESPWiki:Userboxes but first I need to know if it's a good idea. --MC S'drassa T2M 01:41, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Personally... I'd be against it. There are too many "This user [x]s" or "does [x]", where [x] is quite clearly untrue (worships Vivec, etc). Having said that, I'm not in any position of responsibility here any more so you should feel free to ignore that.
One tip for future template stuff.... a lot of Neph's extensions only work in the Template namespace (#preview being a prime example). You're often best creating a test template there, because you usually don't ever have to hit save - just show preview. –rpehTCE 01:47, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay, sorry about all those edits. As you have seen I still have to learn some things. And, you're right, if I added those that would be too many categories. Anyway thanks for all the help! --MC S'drassa T2M 01:53, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Sorry if that came over as a criticism - it wasn't intended. I've made more than my fair share of immediately-edited edits to template space recently! The #preview function isn't part of standard MediaWiki - I was just pointing it out for the future. If you're interested in all the new Nephunctions (and I should probably copyright that particular portmanteau), take a look at UESPWiki:MetaTemplate and UESPWiki:UespCustomCode... and don't worry too much if it looks complex. I think Nephele is the only one who completely understands it all! –rpehTCE 01:59, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Wow, they're really kinda hard. But I'm just a novice so I guess I'll take some time to study them. And don't worry about that, actually I even felt like giving up because those were a lot of edits. I guess I'll have to learn the basics before I try it again :) --MC S'drassa T2M 02:12, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Don't be intimidated. Most of that stuff is only for advanced templates. I don't know if you program computers at all, but if you don't already know it, there's an aphorism from programming that works well with templates: If you think it's too complex, it probably is. In other words, keep it as simple as you can. UESP's best template expert isn't around at the moment, but please ask me if you have any questions and I'll do what I can to help. –rpehTCE 02:24, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! It's good to know that. And no, I don't know how to program computers (although I wish I did) :P --MC S'drassa T2M 02:30, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Moving Pages[edit]

I noticed you manually cut-n-pasted the text to move a misspelled page recently. Though it's not a big deal since that page only had one edit as the history, we have a move function that allows the title to be changed and adds a redirect at the old title. You could then prod the redirect. The reason the move function is desirable is that it allows the page's edit history to follow the page, so we can see who contributed to the page no matter how many name changes it's had. --GKTalk2me 02:38, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Actually I tried to do that but in order to create the new page I would need to write something, create the page and then move it. I thought that instead of doing that, I would simply create the page by cut-n-paste :) --MC S'drassa T2M 02:42, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
You don't need to create a new page first. Simply open the page you want to move, click on the "Move" tab at the top of the page, and then name the new page whatever you like (but be sure to add a reason). Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs,E-mail) 02:48, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't know that. I'll keep it in mind next time :). --MC S'drassa T2M 02:51, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Wanna Be a Patroller?[edit]

Considering all the work you've put in recently, and since you're obviously watching Recent Changes anyway, I'm considering nominating you to be a patroller. Take a look at the Patrollers page and let me know what you think. --GKTalk2me 05:17, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Wow, I certainly didn't see that coming, especially since I have been on the Wiki for only two months. Sure I would like to become a patroller! I would really like to help you out with the patrolling, especially since the number has reduced a little bit since RobinHood left, and I see that you have also removed Gaebrial from the list. So, why not? Let's hope the others are ok with that :) --MC S'drassa T2M 05:24, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Great! Your nomination is here; you can officially accept there, and add any comments you might have, just above the "Votes" section. --GKTalk2me 06:07, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
For some reason, I actually disagree with this. ModderElGrande 20:09, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Instead of stating this here, you can better say it on the nominations page with your reasons for it. This won't help anyone. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 21:47, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
