Looting the Daedra corpses[edit]

Would it be a good idea to add to the notes that the corpses should be looted before killing the Summoner? When I did this quest I noticed that the summoned creatures' corpses stayed put instead of vaporising as a normal summoned monster. I thought they would stay that way after I killed the summoner and that I'd be able to loot them later, but they despawned. Have anyone tried looting them? Zheft 11:54, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

That's because technically, the Golden Saints and Ogrim are not summoned via magic the way most summons are - they in fact exist already but are disabled. (In fact, there isn't even a Summon Ogrim effect in the game. There is a Summon Golden Saint, but he's not using it.) The Clannfear is from a normal Summon Clannfear spell which he may or may not cast - which is probably the reason they did it this way. The Golden Saints and Ogrim are guaranteed to show up, which wouldn't be the case if they were just spells he was casting. What I'm not sure about is if this will cause a bug - if you loot and dispose of the corpses and then kill Gavis, it's possible the game will crash when it tries to despawn them. So loot, maybe, but don't dispose. Though somebody needs to test that at least before we make a recommendation in the article. --TheRealLurlock Talk 11:53, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, it is safe to loot and dispose of the corpses before killing Gavis Velas, no problem there.--PLRDLF (talk) 01:28, 3 January 2014 (GMT)
