Enchantment[edit]

I'm wondering, is the enchantment really useless? A fortified Magicka for just 1 sec isn't much, but perhaps enough to cast one spell? The stated reason for it not working seems to working on the assumption that casting the enchantment spell takes a few seconds. Instead casting spells from an enchantment is significantly faster (> 1s ?) than the casting a normal spell.

In other words, was this tested? --Timenn-<talk> 14:41, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I tested it, and it doesn't work. I cast "Fortify Magicka" from the robe, then cast another spell and the number of my PC's base spell points dropped by the exact cost of the spell:
1517 spell points base
fortified by 300 ->1817
cast a spell with a cost of 158->Result: 1359 points (1517-158=1359). Which means, the robe had no effect at all. WRFan 17:52, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
1515 spell points is much, not something you would normally have. My point is that you can use the robe to increase your magicka long enough to be able to cast expensive spells. So if you have 200 magicka, and want to cast a spell with a cost of 300, you can use the robe to temporarily have enough magicka to cast it.
Oh, and please stop modifying my signature. --Timenn-<talk> 09:51, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Caption level[edit]

I changed the caption level to 4 because this article is included in Tribunal:Artifacts. If the caption level is 2, the article structure of the Arftifacts will be broken. In the other articles like Tribunal:Mace of Slurring it is done accordingly. --Killfetzer 12:39, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Oh, i didn't realise that (Eddie The Head 12:47, 15 January 2012 (UTC))

i think the entchantmend here is bugged[edit]

to me it seems like someone at bethesda did a misslick when doing this entchantment and it should RESTORE magika instead of fortifying it because that makes more sense when you look at it. drains life ---> restores mana. since both of these effects are close together in the cs spell dropdown lists i think it was just a missclick which renderred this item from awesome (instant 300 magika woho) to totally useless.

its best to use it to donate to the museum for the blade of nerevar quest part. — Unsigned comment by 77.184.123.88 (talk) at 00:13 on 7 September 2013 (GMT)

While that might be true, we don't have any way to prove that is the case or not. As such, we can't add any kind of bug note to the article. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 00:13, 7 September 2013 (GMT)
I'm not sure what you mean here. Drain and fortify are opposite effects. If you wanted the opposite of restore, it'd be damage. Xolroc (talk) 02:01, 7 September 2013 (GMT)
of course there is no way to proof my claim. tough when you look at it this item is otherwise completly useless. tough it cold be this was intended to get the blade of nerever quest done without losing a useful artifact on the other hand so youre right and i didnt suggest adding this to the bug section hence why i posted this here instead^^. — Unsigned comment by 77.184.11.157 (talk) at 22:48 on 16 September 2013

ESO?[edit]

The Robe of the Lich as an item in ESO, part of the Shroud of the Lich set. Related?— Unsigned comment by 24.102.152.62 (talk) at 04:36 on 7 August 2015

Given that the set drops at the Dark Anchors, which is also where Gedna Relvel can appear, I'd say it's quite possible. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 05:32, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
