raw adamantiumm[edit]

Please forgive me, but I am certainly not sure how to title this article. In short, its about what I did with raw deposits. When I found them to be empty, I just go out from that location, save my game, then exit the game and then restart and reload it. And I found that in most cases, there was ore sample in adamantium deposits (before were empty). If you not already mined an ore sample from deposit, because you found it empty, you can exit the area, save your game and then reload. I tested it, and there was ore sample in that deposit (previously it was empty). I posted it here, because someone may find it usable. If not I am sorry and you may delete this. — Unsigned comment by Janmojzis (talkcontribs) on 26 January 2009

That's how every container with random contents works in the game: the contents are randomly determined when you enter the zone. Therefore, each time you load a save and re-enter an area, a different set of random contents are generated. It's not a type of respawning, and it's not specific to adamantium ore. Also, your chances of finding adamantium ore after reloading are still 60%, same as before. --NepheleTalk 00:08, 3 February 2009 (EST)
But I dont understand why I should "save the game before mining them" - as stated in article. Cause there is always only one sample per ore anyway. And if theres no sample in ore, you cannot mine it (you can still continue in game, then save it in other location and reload and return and its still the same effect - verified).

Respawning[edit]

I've changed the page back to make clear that Adamantium does not respawn.

The internal facts are as follows. Adamantium is only found in the leveled list random_adamantium. That list is found in the following containers and nowhere else: rock_adam_py08, rock_adam_py09, rock_adam_py10, rock_adam_py11, rock_adam_py12, rock_adam_py13, rock_adam_py14, rock_adam_mold15, rock_adam_mold16, rock_adam_mold17, rock_adam_mold18, rock_adam_mold19, rock_adam_mold20 and , rock_adam_mold21. Some of the "py" ones are not used, but the others are found in Norenen-dur, The Teeth that Gnash. The "mold" ones are found mostly in Old Mournhold: Temple Crypt with a few in Old Mournhold: Temple Catacombs and three in Old Mournhold: Armory Ruins.

All the containers (except py_09, which isn't used anyway) are "non-organic" and are set to not respawn.

There is a chance that if you install a mod it can cause a cell reset, which would cause the adamantium to respawn but this is non-typical behavior. The standard is that the rocks will not respawn, so that is what the article should say. –rpehTCE 05:06, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Stahlrim or Adamantium?[edit]

So, i know this is a stupid question, but i've had some issues deciding which Medium armor ACTUALLY is the best, I have the GOTY xbox version, so it has both expansions, and both claim to be the best, and i can't work out which is true just from the base stats. Pardon my ignorance, and if anyone knows for sure, please, help me out — Unsigned comment by 72.200.97.155 (talk)

The best would be Stahlrim for everything besides the helm, which would be Adamantium.--Ratwar 16:33, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Save game before mining ??[edit]

Forgive me, but I still don't understand why article 'till now states that I should save game before mining them, can anybody explain? (Because the ore can always be generated, in case you not already removed it from container, even you can save after you've found the container empty -- upon next restart the previously not generated ore can be generated upon next time-restart.) Janmojzis 13:24, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

It's a lot easier to just reload immediately to get the ore rather than wait for the next time you restart.--Ratwar 00:56, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

How many pieces of ore for the armor[edit]

I'm a little confused: in the chart for the armor it says you need 45 pieces of ore, but in the paragraph afterwards it talks about 20 pieces. How many do I need for the armour? -Meisterdieb 04:34, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

You need 45 pieces to make a complete set of armor, but only 20 pieces are available in the game. I've revamped the page to hopefully make it clearer. --NepheleTalk 05:48, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Is 20 pieces of ore a hard limit?[edit]

I ended up with 31 pieces of Adamantium ore (13 from Norenen-dur). Is this related to of one of the mods that gave me the Right Glove of Demondarts or was it because I drank several potions to get my luck above 1000? GRPenguin 08:16, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't know about the mod, but Luck does not affect how many ores you get. (Eddie The Head 08:20, 6 February 2012 (UTC))
Okay, then what does affect how many one gets? I tried it again and ended up with a total of 49, more than enough for a whole suit of armor. I had the Ancient Nordic Pick Axe and waited until fatigue was full before each strike. It seemed like it would be possible to get 3 pieces of ore from each deposit (60 total) with really abusing save/reload function. GRPenguin 00:53, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Temple Crypt Adamantium Rocks respawning?[edit]

Perhaps this is old news (or a one-off bug), but the Adamantium Rocks in the Temple Crypt are definitely respawning on my game. I just keep zoning back and forth between the Crypt and the Temple Shrine and checking the ore rocks. If there is ore present I take it, if not, I zone and come back and check again. I've harvested ore from some of these rocks 3 times, and collected 18 samples just in the Crypt alone. Haven't checked to see if this is true of adamantium rocks in other areas of the sewers, though. I'm playing the GOTY version on regular XBOX, by the way, so no mods, patches or anything like that here. Anyone else experiencing this?

I confirm and I've just updated the page. --Giant Lizard (talk) 19:49, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Respawning adamantium ore[edit]

Just like the previous unnamed user just above, I too have found that the ore deposits in the Temple Crypt are respawning on the Xbox GOTYE of the game. I have also tried going back to the Temple Catacombs and the ore there also respawns. I haven't tried going around to the other locations to see if those also respawn, but will certainly try it and see what happens. Even if they do though, the Crypt seems to be the best spot with ten deposits so there is better odds of getting more ore with each trip in and out of the location. --Dragos Drakkar (talk) 01:00, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

confirmed and updated the page. --Giant Lizard (talk) 19:50, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
In this Reddit post (created by me, years ago) another user confirms the respawn on the Xbox version. With user Dragos Drakkar we're already 3 people confirming and zero denying it. Shouldn't we delete the verification needed tag? — Giant Lizard (talk) 20:55, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
