Examples and Default Values[edit]

Could we get an example of how to use the style parameter correctly in this template's documentation, as well as the default style values for reference? Every time I've tried to add styling to a quote box, I've had to copy from another quote box instead of doing it by hand. I'm not sure if it's just me, or if the template is finicky. Thanks in advance! -MolagBallet (talk) 19:29, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

How's that? In theory, we could convert some of these to additional parameters and avoid the need for direct CSS, but it's hard to predict what's needed beyond one or two really common scenarios. Robin Hood(talk) 22:50, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
I kept getting turned around by the lack of quotation marks after "style=". I'm used to putting everything in quotes when altering style in div elements, and that threw me off. I thought I'd have to include them, but I don't. It wasn't obvious to me that I didn't need to put my style changes in quotes, so I thought having style changes in the example might be useful. -MolagBallet (talk) 00:42, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, that's an unfortunately confusing side-effect of the fact that in most templates, you're only giving part of the CSS style value, not the whole thing. For consistency, I've been doing them all the same way, even if the user is providing the entire style value. Robin Hood(talk) 06:32, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
