Places between Tamriel and Akavir[edit]

Cathnoquey, Esroniet, Roscrea and Yneslea...

Why are this lands even mentioned among continents?

Why don't we create special row for continents and special for other lands? Kertaw48 19:49, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

I don't think it is really that important to differentiate on that level, since all the reader has to do is click a link. And I am concerned it might get a little thin. I will toy around and see if I can come up with something manageable. –Elliot talk 20:55, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Here is what I came up with:
Regions of the Elder Scrolls
Tamriel Black Marsh | Cyrodiil | Elsweyr | Hammerfell | High Rock | Morrowind | Skyrim | Summerset Isle | Valenwood
Other Lands Esroniet | Cathnoquey | Roscrea | Yneslea
Continents Akavir | Aldmeris | Atmora | Esroniet | Pyandonea | Thras | Yokuda
Worlds Mundus | Nirn | Oblivion
Is that what you were aiming for? –Elliot talk 21:00, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, except for Thras since it's not a continent. Either that or we should completly remove those lands between Tamriel and Akavir. They're just islands is the sea with nothing special about them. No new races or anything... Kertaw48 18:53, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

The Reach[edit]

I've reverted this edit which added a link to the Reach on this page. I don't recall a source stating that the region had "semi-province status" under the Longhouse Emperors, nor do I think that's reason enough to include it on this template.

To my mind, temporary regional/breakaway independence at some point in history is not enough to give a place equivalent status to Orsinium. If we were to include every autonomous or culturally distinct region of Tamriel on this navbox, we would end up needing to include the likes of County Bravil and County Leyawiin (both independent in 4E), Anequina and Pellitine, Artaeum, the endless political divisions within High Rock and Hammerfell, etc. etc. And to pre-empt the racial element from the loud pro-Reachfolk contingent, the Reach isn't even the extent of that people's historical lands—do we want to add Western Reach to this list too?

My opinion is that this should remain a high-level navbox with a list of the provinces. Including Orsinium (given its significance) and Solstheim (given its various sovereigns) seem like okay exceptions to make, but adding places like the Reach is a step too far and will diminish the usefulness of this list by incorporating far too many regional subdivisions. It would be far more useful in my view to create a separate {{Lore Skyrim}} navbox where individual political and geographical nuances can be listed fully. —Legoless (talk) 15:58, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
