Unintentional Consequence?[edit]

Not sure if it was intentional or not, but this template now results in the transcluded sentence appearing on the Lore Index pages (eg, Lore:Places H#High Rock), where it did not before. This was not the case before because it was not transcluded into lorespace; I assumed that was the idea, due to the link already being present in the {{Lore Link}} in first line, that it wasn't needed again at the end. --Enodoc (talk) 09:23, 4 November 2014 (GMT)

Technically speaking, the edit to Lore:High Rock just removed too much, but I suspect that's the kind of check that'll pop up more than once, so I've added the option to the template itself. I fixed the one case you mentioned specifically, and off-hand, I don't see any others. I think I also worked around the one user space transclusion. I think those are the only exceptions currently. Oh I get you, theoretically it could be used in conjunction with {{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACE}}|Lore||}}; that makes sense. Thanks for adding the option as well – so we just add nolore=1 to stop it from transcluding into lorespace? --Enodoc (talk) 14:13, 4 November 2014 (GMT)
Yup. I'll update the docs in a sec. Robin Hood  (talk) 14:24, 4 November 2014 (GMT)

Multiple uses[edit]

I think the wiki template system is trying to be intelligent by not re-created the template when it's used multiple times in a page. This results in, for example, every FMI link on Lore:Man to link to the Nord page, since it's the first to be used. The same applies on all the Race pages and I suppose on every page where this template would be transcluded more than once. Is there a way to force the template to be entirely recreated on each inclusion? -- Hargrimm(T) 06:19, 6 November 2014 (GMT)

Bah! I hadn't thought of that. They've added something to flag content like that in MW1.24, I think. In older versions, the only way to force it to update is to add a parameter to the original call, so make them all read {{FMI|dummy=}}. Robin Hood  (talk) 16:19, 6 November 2014 (GMT)
Oops, I forgot about this till now. I just put the bot on it, because as simple as it is, programming the bot to do it took me about 1/10 the time it'd take to do it manually. :) Robin Hood  (talk) 03:01, 7 November 2014 (GMT)
