Reason for template[edit]

There was some discussion earlier on Lore_talk:History about certain pages appearing in areas that they don't quite fit into. The topic of Lore:Appendices came up and Legoless' main concern (which I agree with) was the length of the transcluded Appendices list is getting too long and beginning to cause formatting issues. This will only get worse as time goes on. I had the idea to rework the Appendices section and convert the sidebar into a bottom footer so we wont have formatting issues. This template is that the idea. I've added as many misc lore pages I could find, and it may need some tweaking. I'm sure there are other mics lore pages I've missed out.

This gives us the freedom to categorise many of the misc lore pages (that don't quite fit in defined Lore categories) in a way that makes more sense to readers. Also, I believe that will give these pages more visibility, as currently they are quite niche and hard to find. Thoughts?--Jimeee (talk) 17:01, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

A languages/linguistics link leading to a hub page for the various languages would work on this template. Lore:Languages didn't exist even as a redirect until about a 9 months ago.--Talyyn (talk) 17:25, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
At this point given how large its become, Languages warrants its own section on the lore main page. --Jimeee (talk) 17:31, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
I do like the design of the vertical list transclusion but this solves the issue of length and is a more standardised navigation method. —Legoless (talk) 00:54, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

Rituals & Prophecies[edit]

I'm going to reopen this discussion with a suggestion: We should create a navbox for Lore:History and move all the little bits that seem out of place in the Appendices there. Specifically, Wars, Rituals and Prophecies, Law and Politics, and Tamrielic Empires. -MolagBallet (talk) 18:45, 27 September 2021 (UTC)

I would disagree with that suggestion - they don't seem out of place at all. Wars is the only category that fits into History, but the other three you mentioned don't quite fit in the context of a chronological history (entries such as Code of Malacath, Wild Hunt, Ritual of the Ancestor Moth, etc). Secondly, there is no reason a proposed History navbox cant include Wars also. Duplication of sections on other navboxes is perfectly fine given navboxes exist to help readers navigate content, not for us to categorise content.--Jimeee (talk) 09:13, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
The topic of Wars probably needs its own navbox to be honest. There has been talk for the longest time of giving wars their own individual articles, but aside from a handful this has yet to be done. —Legoless (talk) 09:41, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
