Spell Tomes[edit]

Each court wizard sells all Novice and Apprentice spell tomes. For Adept tomes, only the court wizard specializing in it will be selling them.

  • Wylandriah sells Adept Alteration.
  • Calcelmo of Markarth sells Adept Conjuration.
  • Farengar Secret-Fire of Whiterun sells Adept Destruction.
  • Sybille Stentor of Solitude sells Adept Illusion.
  • Falion of Morthal, Madena of Dawnstar and Wuunferth the Unliving of Windhelm do not sell any Adept spell.

All Spell Tomes are unlocked by the skill of the player reaching 50. For example, you need Alteration at 50 to begin seeing the new spells from Wylandriah. Et cetera. --Joshua.yathin.yu 14:45, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Possible Reference[edit]

Could Wylandriah be a nod to "The Absent-Minded Professor?"174.0.116.189 06:47, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Note's reference to Greenmote[edit]

I find it interesting that the note addressed to her reveals that she has knowledge of Greenmote, a substance found only in the Shivering Isles...— Unsigned comment by 71.197.136.159 (talk) at 19:22 on 7 April 2012

She is very confused... Wolok gro-Barok 17:53, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
I've added a line about this to the "Notes" section. Given that Duke Thadon was similarly scatterbrained, and was addicted to Greenmote, I think it's logical to conclude that Wylandriah may be a Greenmote addict. — Unsigned comment by ‎Doc Incognito (talkcontribs) at 05:21 on 7 August 2012

Possible easter egg[edit]

When spoken to about her disorganisation some of the later dialouge options include "7" and "9" which may be a reference to 7 of 9 from star trek 110.33.215.204 05:00, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

I highly doubt this to be mentioned as an Easter Egg, and is probably a mere coincidence within the game. -- Helenaannevalentine 05:03, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
Probably not a reference. In the future, please post possible easter eggs here ES(talkemail) 05:04, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
Could it not be a reference to the recurring themes throughout TES? Seven towers, Eight 'divines' and one ascendant (thus making Nine), double that of the Daedra plus one forgotten and so forth? 86.18.161.52 13:35, 11 April 2014 (EDT)

Can't cast spells[edit]

Despite being a court wizard, she can't cast any spells.

Can someone please explain the basis for this note? --Xyzzy Talk 06:07, 19 February 2014 (GMT)

In CSList she has no "Combat Style" assigned (compared to, for example, Calcelmo, who has "Combat Style" "csHumanMagic (0x0003be1c)"), so maybe she indeed uses some default non-spellcasting combat style? Sergio Morozov (talk) 07:52, 19 February 2014 (GMT)
Found out Tolfdir also has no combat style assigned, but he definitely can cast spells...Sergio Morozov (talk) 08:03, 19 February 2014 (GMT)
Yeah, you gotta be careful about CSList and CK data. Often, there will be base records and scripts that get overridden or negated during game play. --Xyzzy Talk 21:09, 19 February 2014 (GMT)
I've attacked her, using the latest version of Skyrim, and she uses her staff of chain lightning but I've also taken her equipment off her and when I then attack she runs to find a weapon and pick it up. From the ESM in the creationkit she doesn't have any spells nor does she use them even if I give her one (Thunderbolt) when attacked and defending herself. 86.18.161.52 13:31, 11 April 2014 (EDT)
I attacked her and she used her staff, which then I removed via console. She doesn't know any spells so she fought barehanded, but when I gave her a spell with console (Lightning Bolt, 2dd29) she used it to attack me. So yeah, she can cast spells even without a combat style, just not in normal gameplay. —<({Quill-Tail>> 12:08, 10 June 2014 (GMT)
The notes fails to mention this omission was fixed by USSEP some time ago. I do not know the exact version. She was given a combat style and a set of spells.

Staff[edit]

Not sure if it's worth noting since it's a known side effect, but with the Merchant perk you can buy her destruction staff. Since she's guaranteed to carry one, she can be an useful source if you don't want to rely on random vendor lists.--66.102.8.188 21:18, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
