Abandoned?[edit]

After beating the main quest, there's nobody there. Western Watchtower seems to be abandoned by Whiterun Guards. --Arkhon 05:24, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Just took a look, and I have two patrolling Whiterun Guards in the tower after beating the main quest - I guess it depends on how many survived the initial attack. --Krusty 05:50, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
How do I 'respawn' them (there's nobody there, no bodies - nothing) so that they could remain in Western Watchtower and patrol around it back and forward? I don't like this place to be so empty... --Arkhon 00:44, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Same here, the Whiterun Guards are gone or not there for my game. I can't remember if I saw them there before. If they were there before but now are gone, it might be because I have finished the Civil War quest, siding with Stormcloaks. But there might be a random encounter when you fast travel there - a dragon, an overturned carriage, a dead stray dog, and 3 dead peoples. — Unsigned comment by 175.142.182.162 (talk) at 23:23 on 1 January 2013

Photo Gallery? Evolution of the Structure?[edit]

It's been suggested that the location looks different before and after Dragon Rising. As a result we collected some photos, which we've parked as the following: :File:SR-place-Western Watchtower 02.jpg, File:SR-interior-Western Watchtower.jpg, File:SR-interior-Western Watchtower 02.jpg, :File:SR-place-Western Watchtower 05.jpg, File:SR-place-Western Watchtower 06.jpg, :File:SR-place-Western Watchtower 07.jpg. I thought the information I received meant that these pics (all taken before initiating Dragon Rising) would look different than that currently on the place page, but actually they look the same. Obviously, the location looks different during Dragon Rising, as the photo on that page indicates. The next step is to see what it looks like fairly immediately thereafter, and longer thereafter, in case it becomes useful to document how the structure changes over time/with events. I'm otherwise occupied, so I leave it all here now, in case someone wants to follow up on it. I'll also put it on my project list, so I will get back to it eventually. --JR (talk) 13:18, 14 February 2013 (GMT)

Before the Main Quest[edit]

In the Notes section, the fourth note ("If you approach it before the main quest, it will be destroyed") is not correct. If you approach it before the main quest, or in fact even after you've been to Bleak Falls Barrow, it is intact. It is patrolled by 3 guards who stand in the doorway downstairs and one on the roof. You can climb the intact inner stairs to a landing where an archery target is placed, and then climb to the roof.

I tested this with a character who was on the way back to Farengar with the Dragonstone. Emma of Falkreath (talk) 21:18, 13 November 2017 (UTC) Emma

That kind of nonsense needs to be stopped by our patrollers. That note was placed there nearly 2 years ago, and at the same time it removed the full stops from the first two notes. It's patently untrue and should never have been allowed to go unnoticed. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:08, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
Agreed. Thank you for taking care of it. I'm very new here and hesitant to edit anything involving the Main Quest, so I appreciate it. Emma of Falkreath (talk) 15:31, 19 November 2017 (UTC) Emma
