Esbern and Delphine Missing[edit]

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think there's a bug in this place. When I entered the temple one time, when not taking any of the main quests (specifically, around when learning dragonrend), Esbern and Delphine were missing. There was no one at all in the temple, and they only appear during "Paarthurnax". Anyone else experience this? — Unsigned comment by 69.111.181.208 (talk) at 02:56 on 1 December 2011

You can find Delphine outside the temple using the large bank of doors at the top if the stairs. — Unsigned comment by 174.252.130.62 (talk) at 04:38 on 8 December 2011

another bug[edit]

ok i have another bug, when i go to the temple on the quest to find it, with espern, allk he does inside is stand around, and does nothing. ive tried both dialogs with him and i still get him to do othing. — Unsigned comment by 24.217.147.169 (talk) at 15:38 on 8 December 2011

ship wreck[edit]

Below the temple in the river on the western side is a ship (more like a row boat) in the river. It contains a chest, satchel, lock box and several gems laying about. Dragonalumni 12:05, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Chest Bug[edit]

Ive encountered a bug on the Xbox - all the chests have become "owned" at some point, and now all my items inside them have been marked as stolen,(which sucks, as I was storing dragon bones & scales in the chest next to Dragonbane's table). However, addind another (non stolen) item to a stack, and re-entering the chest changed the stack back to non-stolen. Daemond6 22:06, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

This is not a bug, it is a scripted event as part of the Paarthurnax quest. If you complete that quest in Esbern's favor, you will once again have access to the items inside Sky Haven Temple. 69.206.69.174 21:41, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Can't find Dragonbane[edit]

I've just entered the Temple for the first time ever, and I can't seem to find Dragonbane or the chest with the Blade's armour. Does this appear at a later time, or is it there right from the start? Obax 02:42, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

It's there right at the beginning. As soon as you enter the main area, everyone goes to the wall for the scripted talk. Wait till that's done (just so you don't miss it,) then do a 180 and head west into a small room. The long table in the main Alduin Wall room, in the length direction, more or less points right at it. In the small room is a table and on the table are several weapons one of which is Dragonbane. The chest is just to the left of the table and above the chest is the weapons rack. If you come out of this room and turn left you will go up a set of stairs and into a general quarters room with lots of beds and chests. This is a different room from the one Dragonbane is in so if you were searching a room with lots of beds you were in the wrong room. Its hard to see inside the temple the first time your there because of the lighting so the small room you want is easy to miss. Hope this helps. Philbert 08:06, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Safe for storage?[edit]

Are there any containers safe for storage? Nikofeelan 13:28, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

I think the chest that has the blades armour is safe, you might want to try it first though before you put anything valuable in though. RIM 14:59, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
I checked it by uploading the Skyrim data files into the Creation Kit and looking at it. It's not tagged for respawning so it is safe for storage subject to the fact that the ownership tag can change tagging all contents as stolen as noted above.--DagmarH 15:05, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
The article itself states that the respawn time is 10 days, which suggests storage isn't safe. Wolok gro-Barok 12:15, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
The respawn time listed in the place summary is for the entire zone (which is accurate). However, there are a few individual containers in the game which do not respawn, even when they are in a zone that does. The chest Rim and DH are referring to has been reported as safe in other discussions on the site, so it's possible this one is one of the exceptions. For more general information, a list of safe locations can be found here and more information on safe storage can be found here. ABCface 14:13, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
Again, it is safe. The Creation Kit lets you load the Skyrim data files and look at the settings on containers. One of the settings on containers is for respawning contents and the Sky Haven Temple Armory Chest is set to not respawn. I further confirmed it's the same chest by looking at its contents and it contained the Blades armor set.--DagmarH 05:53, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Invisible Barriers[edit]

I seemed to have figure out that you can't climb the mountain and enter the temple before doing the quest to gain entry. As soon as your literally there, invisible barriers appear, stopping you in in your tracks. A good not for anyone's lazy — Unsigned comment by 68.81.47.129 (talk) on 23 April 2012

Boat with treasure[edit]

I don't know if this is the right place to mention this, but in the river below the lookout points, there is an empty boat wit a few empty bottles of wine and quite a few jewels.Should this be mentioned on the article.--Skyrimplayer 16:01, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

The Forsworn were never here.[edit]

I believe the Forsworn never even touched Sky Haven, they lived in the Karthspire and the Karthspire camp, I'll change the article, but if it is right change it back.--Br3admax 15:03, 13 August 2012 (UTC) They did not touch Sky haven temple because of the test you have to do only the dragon born could do them.

secret room behind the fireplace?[edit]

I have scoured the various wikis for any reference to the room behind the fireplace. It's visible on the map but I can't find an entrance. The only thing I have ever found was a passing mention of a library that supposedly doesn't exist. Could this be a secret room?

Run2zion 22:28, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Edit: one forum user used the console to. Investigate. He believes it is nothing more than the top of the fireplace. There was suggestion of it being a difficulty of mapping a 3D world on a 2D map.

Some observation on the recruits activities.[edit]

When I exit to the courtyard from inside Sky Haven Temple between 12.00pm and 2.00pm the second and third recruits will spar with each other. The first recruit will train at 2.00pm. The first recruit also seems to be tasked with a night shift round on the entrance while the second and third recruits sleeps at night. The first recruit sleeps in the morning until midday. — Unsigned comment by 122.255.108.238 (talk) at 06:41 on 27 September 2012

Possible Bug[edit]

I can't find the first person I recruited! (Sven) in the temple. Should I just wait for him to show up or is this a glitch? — Unsigned comment by 98.183.189.125 (talk) at 02:55 on 24 January 2013

What exactly repawns?[edit]

If the chest with the armor (or any chest for that matter) doesn't respawn, and the weapons in the small room don't, then all that's left is the weapons on the small table in the main, but I'm not even sure that those respawn. I just visited after being away from this place for a long time after finishing the main quest and completing the Dawnguard quests. I came back to see if there was some more blades equipment (especially the swords) for me to take, and I'm not sure that anything at all respawns.--Playerseekingbugs (talk) 19:25, 12 March 2013 (GMT)

The weapons on the table in the armory respawn, but the rack of swords doesn't. I'll see what respawns after the place changes to look like someone lives there.--Playerseekingbugs (talk) 01:17, 13 March 2013 (GMT)

People have found the row boat.[edit]

But if you look in the water next to the boat, there is a chest and a couple of mead barrels. You have to find the current but its worth it. 70.117.200.211 01:51, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
