Dealing with Skeletal Dragons[edit]

My skeletal dragon did respond to the Dragonend shout and did fly very well thank you. Even with numerous hits using Jarrin Root poison-tipped arrows I could not drop the skeletal dragon, nor did it take any damage with a maxed-out poison-tipped daedric two handed sword. Those tricks have worked very well in the past for me with all dragons, the bow in particular works very well as a one shot kill.

The "Call dragon" shout summoned Odahviing who arrived quickly and soon dispatched the skeletal dragon. Since I had a very robust follower with ebony armor, daedric bow and arrows, whom I did not want to die; I sheathed my weapon (and left) so that she would not attack Odahviing. I am not sure how well that worked. My Follower did not quit fighting, in any event Odahviing seemed to fly off unharmed.

Dear Merciless editors, show a little mercy, this is my first submission, thank you.

Never fear, it's a talk page. You won't be edited mercilessly (in fact someone else editing your post is frowned upon), although I've seen posts unrelated to the article removed on occasion. So you're saying the skeletal dragon was immune to poison but dragons normally are not? If hitting it with a daedric sword didn't do anything, I'm wondering if it was bugged in some way. -Vardis 19:08, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
The skeletal dragon is undead so of course it's immune to poison and the fact that it flies is very strange and what is meant by using call dragon? That shout works only in the exterior world not in interiors where the dragon is found. — Unsigned comment by 82.73.72.148 (talk) at 15:55 on 27 June 2013

Heart Scales[edit]

Can you get a heart scale from a Skeletal dragon? I sat there for 5 minutes trying to get one with that one blade, and nothing happened. Has anybody else had better luck?Tehuberleetmaster 01:13, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

While I don't have the patience to find out if you can by going through the CK, I doubt it. They aren't like a normal dragon, after all. Getting the heart scales isn't the easiest thing in the world anyway, if you haven't already, you may want to look at Skyrim:Alteration Ritual Spell for the instructions as to how to do this. I would recommend you find and slay a regular dragon, either way. It would probably be quicker that way. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 01:20, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
Skeletal dragons will only ever drop bones. Robin Hoodtalk 03:29, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

No weakness to fire[edit]

Hi, recently I was watching a lets play which happened to have this dragon in the video where they did a spell to detect its weakness' but there was no weakness to any element including fire which the page says it does, I believe this was done due to the attack that the dragon does that is ice based. here is the spot in the video with the stats for your review:

While interesting that's a modded game. Someone without a modded game should check their ck. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 13:07, 6 July 2014 (GMT)

Killing it with summons[edit]

I was standing behind the closed gate and summoned my trusty Dremora Lord through it, having it deal with all walking bones in the area. It killed the skeletons without problem, but only forced the skeletal dragon 'to its knees' as if it were an essential NPC. I walked through the gate, cast one firebolt and it dropped dead. Can the skeletal dragon not be killed by summons (or the dremora lord specifically), or was my encounter glitched? elderscrolls.wikia.com mentions the dragon sometimes falling and reviving like this, but without details. 84.107.138.62 19:34, 5 July 2014 (GMT)
