Inheritance Letter?[edit]

I just got a "Letter of Inheritance" from a courier telling me this guy had died and left me 100 Gold. I have no idea what I did to cause this, since I had only talked to him once right at the start of the game. 90.194.36.19 18:12, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

I had the samething happen to me. I was in Windhelm and I believe the Stormcloaks had just decided to attack Whiterun. Were your circumstances similar by chance?
Thirded. Same happened to me, although I don't recall the exact time. It was almost certainly at some point after defending Whiterun against the Stormcloaks, though. I was in Solitude at the time.
Fighting with the Stormcloaks, in Riverwood, don't know that I ever met the man. Certainly not a Companion -- I'm an Archmage, not some axe slinger. This is weeeeiiiiird. Daedalus Echelon 19:28, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
I also experienced this. I received the letter the second I accepted the Stormcloak Whiterun quest.

() I am having trouble i finished the battle for whiterun as a stormcloak but i can't find him do you know of any way i can find him??? P.S I am on a Xbox

I just got an inheritance from him as well, the first time i've ever seen one. you get them when a friend dies. I'm thinking most of us probably became his friend because we stopped & picked/sold some vegetables at Pelagia Farm, or it's some other disposition boost from one of the factions he belongs to. — Unsigned comment by 172.129.32.209 (talk) on 2 April 2012
I have one question regarding the location of Pelagia farm. I also received his inheritence - while travelling to General Tullius to begin the "Reunification of Skyrim" quest, and the letter is from the Jarl of Whiterun. But according to the Wiki entry on Pelagia farm that is in The Pale, not Whiterun Hold, so surely the disposal (and taxation) of Pelagia's inheritence should be the Jarl of the Pale's responsibility, not Whiterun. If so, does it mean the Wiki is wrong (unlikely since there is a Pale Hold guard patrolling the road near the farm) or is it more likely a mistake in the game? Billy Ruffian 19:24 7 April 2012
I believe you're confusing his farm with Loreius Farm, Pelagia Farm is beside the whiterun stables and honningbrew meadery. The Silencer has spoken 19:47, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Solution to Severio missing after Whiterun conflict[edit]

I've moved the following passage from the main page since it isn't written in a very encyclopaedic manner: it needs a fair bit of work and possibly verification; it's probably more suitable for the discussion page anyway. --Vometia 01:55, 27 November 2011 (UTC)

For all of you that have trouble finding Severio pellagia for the Companions quest:
He AND his house got destroyed in the attack on whiterun.
to fix completeting this quest you must go to console and then type in; player.moveto 002C927
It will transport you into his house where he got killed which u normally cannot enter because the house was destroyed.
when you did the console trick, go to console once more, click on Severio's dead body and type in console; Resurrect
This will resurrect him. wait 1 day, then skip to around 10 am and u can visit him at his farm again.

Severio Pelagia hostile to followers[edit]

I had Uthgerd the Unbroken as a follower, and then Pelagia randomly kills her. I didn't like Uthgerd, so i didn't care. Then I got Aela as a follower, and she was killed by Pelagia. I am so confused because I have lost my wife to him, and I have never done anything to him, but I don't know what to do, seeing as whenever I fight him, guards attack me and Pelagia runs around screaming saying, 'I yield I yield!' Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have anyway of getting him killed or killing him without getting a bounty? Thanks for any help.

Yellow Book of Riddles[edit]

I fast traveled to Whiterun and immediately this guy was walking into town and say, "Here, this is for you," and I received the Yellow Book of Riddles. He had no other dialogue for me. Why did he do this? Is this something he does normally, or is it a thing that NPCs can randomly do? Very strange. The book does nothing for me. It's not a skillbook and it doesn't lead to any quest I can find. --Mebestien (talk) 21:55, 24 January 2014 (GMT)

NPCs give you gifts, sometimes. Usually they're not very valuable or useful and different NPCs may give you different types of gifts (Thongvor Silver-Blood gave me a Steel Mace once for some reason, he didn't even like me, since I play as a legionnaire), but if you're really into roleplaying, I suppose the tankard that beggar gave you once and things like that could have sentimental value. Different Circumstances[edit]

For me, I got the inheritance letter from the courier not too long after I killed the first dragon at the western watchtower, so Severio must have not died from the attack on Whiterun. I have not even started the companions questline let alone the War. Also, this is like my third playthrough, so don't be afraid to leave "spoilers" if you reply to me. — Unsigned comment by 79.77.34.217 (talk) at 12:07 on 9 July 2015

You may get a Letter of Inheritance for any person you're friends with that dies for any reason. If you sell any vegetables to Severio, you are considered "friends", and it's not that hard to die in the world of skyrim... ;-). Inheritance not limited to civil war, companions, or anything else. -- SarthesArai Talk 15:39, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

Severio Pelagia's Coffin[edit]

Were is Severio Pelagia's Coffin located? After the Battle for Whiterun I have check Whiterun Catacombs several times (allowing for a delay and different cell respawn times...) and searched the web and cannot seem to find it. — Unsigned comment by 184.1.217.2 (talk) at 16:06 on 9 June 2016 (UTC)

He may not have one. Not all NPCs have that functionality, and I can never recall seeing a coffin or urn for Severio in the Hall of the Dead. —Legoless (talk) 16:30, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

Failed attempt to save his life[edit]

The Wabbajack can sometime confound NPC-killing scripts because the trasmogrified version of the NPC does not share the same ID. I thought I'd try this technique on old Severio. First I confirmed when he dies: the moment the Battle for Whiterun quest begins. Right then he is moved to his house and disabled. Next I moved him to me just before starting the quest. I used a console command for convenience, but this could be done with bumping and talk-moving him through doors or other techniques. Wabbajacking him causes issues with bounties, but after managing to transmogrify him in a corner out of sight, I rushed through the dialogue to begin the quest. After the quest began, his rabbit form was still there and I wanted him transform back. He instantly died. So in the end it seems like he cannot survive the quest, but with some effort it would be possible to grave rob him and keep the corpse around. --Olaus (talk) 03:23, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
