Basic Information[edit]

At level 38, I tripped over this place on the way to Northwatch Keep to free Thorald from the Falmer. (Quest Missing In Action. Likely to get me in trouble as I'm an Imperial, not a Stormcloak!) The cave is VERY close to the Keep, just about due southwest. The entry is up on the mountain over a very short bridge. It's one of those cracks in the rocks which does not have a visible door.

On entering, I encountered a Flame Atronach. I killed Lort from stealth so he never got a chance to say his piece, but I'm guessing he's a necromancer from the skulls and so forth with which he had decorating his abode. He didn't have much on him aside from Black Mage robes, but there was the skill book (at least, I assume it was a skill book, due to the cost...I must have already found it.) In the chest, I got 188 gold, a Potion of Brief Invisibility, an Ebony Bow of Banishing, Robes of Eminent Alteration, and a Steel Battle Axe of Binding. There's some basic food/alchemy ingredients to be found. The bed is not owned.

At level 71, I hit this place chasing down the Mask of Clavicus Vile. Instead of a flame atronach, I encountered a frost one.

What race is Lort?[edit]

The page header says Lort is a Breton, but I could have sworn he was a Redguard when I saw him. Anyone else think the same? I checked the Skyrim game guide and it doesn't say one way or another. Oshaugm 23:11, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

PI have Lort and Orchendor as thralls and Lort looks like a Breton to me. BTW, Lort and Big O are an undead elemental powerhouse. 108.28.34.65 17:54, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
the console stats that sebastion is just a normal conjurer and spawning him through the console code provided here seems to back that fact
help lort 0 will reveal his base id as 000e9e1a(but it doesnt work) spawns up the code here spawns a level 21 conjurer ~lendial. can anyone check using getavinfo health ? — Unsigned comment by 75.172.36.116 (talk) at 07:17 on 31 December 2011
Yes, the quest A Daedra's Best Friend does the renaming to "Sebastian Lort". When entering Rimerock Burrow before the quest is started, he is a leveled conjurer, named appropriately. --Alfwyn 14:46, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Possible trivia on the name[edit]

The Norwegian word "lort" means "dirt" or "faeces". Probably a coincidence, though. --MortenOSlash 18:02, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Haha, I was waiting for somebody to notice that! :) In any case, Sebastian's back story suggests that it is purely coincidental. Luckily! ;) --Krusty 18:11, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
So "lort" means the same in Danish, then? With the same spelling? I am not sure Swedish has it too, but I think so? B-) --MortenOSlash 20:32, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Using Lort as a Dead Thrall[edit]

After killing Lort in Rimerock Burrow, I reanimated him using the Dead Thrall spell. Upon returning to Haemar's Shame and completing the quest by electing to return the Rueful Axe and receive the Masque instead, Lort vanished. Apparently the quest script disables him upon completion. I was able to re-enable him in the console and he was still my thrall. Rolandito (talk) 06:59, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
