Spoiler[edit]

I don't think the spoiler about him being Sanguine should be in the article, some people might look him up when starting the quest and have the reveal ruined for them. save the spoiler for the quest article. despite the warning in the edit page, i will remove it in 3 days if nobody objects before then. — Unsigned comment by 98.118.93.232 (talk) at 02:25 on 6 August 2012 (UTC)

A notice on the site's main page warns people that its content contains spoilers. Please don't remove anything from the article. —Legoless 01:28, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Well, the site is naturally going to have spoilers, so it is unavoidable if somebody wants to "cheat" and look up how to play anyways. And, I feel that that is an important piece of information to have, as it explains more fully who the character is. With that said, I will be the first second (because Lego beat me :p) to contest the deletion. Snowmane(talkemail) 01:31, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
I agree that it is an important part of the character--you can't fully know who he is without that. While we don't always add spoilers to NPC pages (like if an NPC dies in a quest, etc.), we still want to show what type of person they are. Vely►t►e 01:47, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

New Look[edit]

I'm not sure if It's Hearthfire or Dawnguard but one of these expansions has given him a new look. He now has a hooded black robe instead of an unhooded one.--67.185.108.121 00:22, 12 September 2012 (GMT)

His clothes are determined from a leveled list and one of the options is hooded. The chances are very slim though, about 1 in 20 or so. Golden SilenceBreak the Silence 00:33, 12 September 2012 (GMT)

Name similarity?[edit]

Should it be noted that his name is actually very close to the name of his real identity in pronunciation? Schiffy (talk) 03:40, 12 November 2012 (GMT)

Locations?[edit]

Has anyone actually met him anywhere besides the Bannered Mare in Whiterun? I've now played the game seven times through, and each time tried to do a wildly different quest/hold order, but I always met him in the same place. WooShell (talk) 22:33, 20 May 2014 (GMT)

Windhelm once for me, but I have noticed that it's usually the Bannered Mare. Might be worth looking into the factors at play. —Legoless (talk) 23:10, 20 May 2014 (GMT)
The factors are pretty simple, the first inn you enter after reaching level 14. The majority of players would reach this quite easily in Whiterun given its involvement in the first few quests of the main quest and being the home of the Companions, the first faction encountered. Spawning Sam - Dialogue[edit]

I discovered that spawning Sam via the console gives two dialogue options 'Bribe' and 'Intimidate'. If you select 'Bribe' he responds with, 'That amount should readily allow me to aquire a drink' and 'Intimidate' results in, 'You should try that bit on the barkeep. Maybe get yourself a free drink'. Useless information, I know, but I was curious as to why he would present these dialogue options, given that you do not encounter him after the initial drinking competition. I wondered if anyone knew why? Ragged Claw (talk) 02:14, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Ragged Claw

360 incorrect name[edit]

It should be noted that Sam’s name, as shown onscreen, is indeed Sam Guevenne, however his name as shown in the Miscellaneous Quest entry reads Sam Guenvere. I have a picture saved if you require confirmation. This may make it difficult for players searching the site for the wrong name. Belgarim (talk) 01:07, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

That's a fair point. I created a redirect at the misspelling pointing to the correct name. Jeancey (talk) 15:39, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
