Money Loser[edit]

This quest is a money loser, so unless you want to buy the house in Riften you might want to skip it. My level thirty got 200 for the 2 flawless sapphires, 100 for the mammoth tusk and 100 for the gold ore. I could have sold all of these to a merchant for 689 gold pieces. I did get a gold necklace that I sold for 68 gold. The net loss was 221 gold pieces. This doesn't count the two used invisibility potions needed to steal one of the sapphires. The flawless sapphire was in the Inner Sanctum of the Temple of Dibella in Markarth, on a shelf to the left after you open the interior door of the Sanctum, but since services were being conducted the invisibility potions were a must.Kalevala 21:10, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

stealing his strongbox alone compensates the quest.. his display box, with a nice expert lock xp bonus, well makes this side quest profitable
and like the above poster said.. profit isn't the only motive — Unsigned comment by 130.126.237.84 (talk) at 18:50 on 25 February 2012

Stolen Items[edit]

It would appear that Madesi won't accept stolen items for his ingredients(?), I used 1 flawless amethyst from the wilderness and the one in the temple of dibella, but the option won't appear, the dibellan one is obviously stolen, so I don't think he accepts them EDIT: Ah heck, I've been looking for amethysts the whole time, goddamit memory Emzi43 (talk) 15:34, 1 February 2014 (GMT)
