Non-hostile Orcs/Forsworn[edit]

Outside there spawns a few orc hunters and some Forsworn that DON'T attack. Anyone know their purpose? — Unsigned comment by 108.49.43.88 (talk) at 21:10 on 11 January 2012

There is a nearby Orc Stronghold directly south west of of Purewater Run called Dushnikh Yal. The Orcs that come from that stronghold are NOT hostile.
As for the Forsworn, if you have progressed far enough into the Forsworn questline, then any hunting parties that are sent out from the Forsworn Camps should be non-hostile as well. If, however, you have not done any of the Forsworn quests, then why they do not attack is indeed odd. Azure_King 21:21, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Clearable[edit]

The page says that this cave is not clearable, but I was able to get it tagged as cleared. I don't know how to edit the page to change it to clearable. Can someone change it, or better yet, explain how to change it? Xyzzy 02:23, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

The way to do it is to add |clearable=Yes to the Place Summary. However, I'd really like to get more information/confirmation before making any such change. This location does not have a "clearable" flag in the game data -- so if it is indeed clearable, it means that we have absolutely no idea of what determines whether or not a place is clearable, and we have to basically delete the clearable information from every other place page in the game and restart from scratch on documenting this parameter. Furthermore, there isn't any boss enemy or even any boss chest in the cave, which would imply (according to our current understanding of clearing dungeons) that it is not possible to make it be cleared, regardless of the clearable flag.
What patch do you have installed? Do you have any mods installed? What did you do to make the location tagged as cleared? Can anyone else confirm that they are also able to do it? --NepheleTalk 03:07, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
As followup, I just visited the cave, killed the two slaughterfish, and looted everything in the cave, but it's still not showing up as cleared for me. --NepheleTalk 19:02, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
I guess I spoke too soon. When I posted my question, I had killed the slaughterfish, collected all of the loot, then checked the local map. My location showed "Purewater Run (Cleared)". However, when I check it now, the "cleared" label is gone. Strange. I am running version 1.4.27.0.4 on the PC. Xyzzy 05:37, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for checking. There's one other potentially similar report for Klimmek's House, making me wonder whether it is some type of occasional game glitch -- similar to falling through the floor, that happens randomly anywhere in the game and isn't really reproducible. --NepheleTalk 06:35, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
I would be curious to check this out on other "unclearable' locations. Is there a list of these somewhere? Xyzzy 01:53, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
No, there's no category listing unclearable locations. But basically every house, store, and other non-hostile area is unclearable, as well as most Military Forts. If the wiki page doesn't have a "Clearable" entry in the infobox, it's unclearable. --NepheleTalk 03:04, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
Even if you use console "setlocationcleared 0001928D 1" Purewater Run still will be tagged as uncleared. I don't know how Xyzzy got that cleared.--46.98.58.12 15:32, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

non hostile forsworn[edit]

I too found a band of non hostile forsworn not too far from Markarth in the middle of nowhere. About five of them. They were standing over an ash pile that had once been an Orc Hunter and other Orcs were in the area (I saw a living one about two hundred yards before I ran into the forsworn. I walked up, looted the ash pile and they just said "huh" and the usual "what do you need" routine. I have purposely done next to nothing in the forsworn conspiracy (didnt want to go to jail) and I am the Thane of Markarth so this makes little sense. About twenty yards from them was this Balbus guy too (the one looking for ingreedients). He was not with the forsworn or the Orcs, just really nearby and again, this is all in the middle of nowhere. If anyone figures it out I would love to hear it lol. — Unsigned comment by 68.35.239.153 (talk) on 20 March 2012

Purewater Run Suggested Additional Information[edit]

Swimming around in the main chamber are several Ingredient type fish which can be harvested in addition to the salmon over with the slaughterfish. Histcarp and Silversides Perch.

Can confirm this. 174.6.51.17 16:50, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Loot[edit]

There isn't necessarily an iron warhammer near the skeleton mentioned in the article. I am not entirely sure, but it seems to be a random unenchanted warhammer up to your level. Also, it might be noteworthy that one of the dwarven chests contains a copy of the skill book Cherim's Heart. Roger (talk) 14:03, 20 October 2012 (GMT)

I confirmed this and made necessary changes to the article. ~ Psylocke 14:20, 20 October 2012 (GMT)

size of the cave[edit]

It looks pretty small but when i opened the map it shows more though. I was wondering is there more to it like a passage underwater or something...122.62.148.133 04:15, 27 November 2013 (GMT)

Face the direction that the map shows an extra area, and look up. You'll see that it's the area one of the waterfalls comes from. It's a small spur, inaccessible, and if you go up there with tcl there's nothing to interact with. Just scenery. -- Ben 50.131.243.230 03:44, 27 January 2014 (GMT)

Locked chest non-standard[edit]

It seems that the "locked chest" isn't in the base game. I didn't see it when I visited Purewater Run and sure enough when I checked in Creation Kit there's nothing there. I removed the references in this edit but they've been reinstated. I'm not going to edit-war over it but I am curious if it's courtesy of a mod someone has installed or if there are other shenanigans. I had wondered about an initially disabled chest but there should still be something at that position in CK and there's nothing I can see. --Vometia (talk) 06:09, 30 May 2022 (UTC)

It was part of Anniversary Edition (which I abbreviated as "AE" in the edit summary, sorry if that caused any confusion). We are documenting the content in AE. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 06:11, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
Right you are! Thanks for the clarification and it seems that as usual I need to make a fool of myself in public before realising what's the deal. :D --Vometia (talk) 06:15, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
