Avoiding the Mine[edit]

It is possible for a persistent climber to access the summit without passing through the mine. This is easiest starting from Clearspring Tarn and constantly attempting to climb while slowly circling the summit in a clockwise direction. 64.56.1.103 01:54, 1 December 2011 (UTC)Dragonsey

Confirmed. I just tried the above technique and it worked like a charm. Might be a worthnoty update to the article if a more experienced editor than me would like to update the article. — Unsigned comment by 112.5.139.10 (talk) at 15:24 on February 1, 2012

Possible bug[edit]

While trying the second entrance technique mentioned earlier, I tried to kill the dragon by bow-sniping instead of bruteforce melee and I think I found a bug. I used the first hut (furthest away from the wordwall with the chest right inside the door) for thu'um protection and to be able to get "hidden" status. Everything went fine until the dragon "landed" (bash down with force) just behind the hut. This made the player fly up to the roof and get stuck in the ceiling and depending on viewing angle, sometimes be able to see the outside through the roof. Starting the fight from the hut and then running out from it before the dragon bashed down behind it worked fine, but when the dragon was dead (I continue to use another hut as protection) and I went to the first hut (the buggy one) the player walked in the air around the hut and was not able to enter it anymore. The chest could still be looted from a distance outside the hut, but the crosshair had to be precise in one particuar spot.

I dont know if this is a bug or if it is an attempt from bethesda to make the first hut collapse as a shelter a bit into the fight. If so, they have failed to make it in a trustworthy and "nice" way. I have tried this 4 times from a savepoint just before enter the summit from the mountainside. It have the same effect every time. If someone can confirm it and update the article if it is reproducable, it would be great. — Unsigned comment by 112.5.139.10 (talk) at 15:44 on February 1, 2012

The above is written by me before I had a real UESP account. I stated the bug here for discussion as I am a pretty inexperienced editor. But every editor have to start somewhere and as no discussion have surfaced during a week, I have edited this page with this bug now. It is confirmed to have happened on atleast two separate consoles with two separate gamediscs. Unfortunately it is two Xbox 360 bought at around the same time. My friend replicated the bug in realtime as per telephone instructions by me. He is not an editor and have no intentions to be one so it still needs proper verification. Preferably from other consoles. As mentioned, I am inexperienced when it comes to editing, so please feel free to update the section/delete it as I have no doubt it can benefit from a more professional editor. I dare to say that it is atleast "semi-verified" on Xbox 360. --Middleofsweden 17:04, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Suggestion for all location pages on this wiki[edit]

You know what would be a cool idea? Actual screenshots of the locations on the map. I know the in game pictures of the places are pretty, but pictures of the map would be 1,000,000 times more useful. — Unsigned comment by 71.241.195.66 (talk) on 2:59, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

There is actually a Skyrim map linked to from most all location pages. Just click on the "(View on map)" link in the infobox. —likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 03:36, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

Letter from a Friend quest objective 'bug'[edit]

Not sure if this is a common occurrence, but it's not happened to me before. I learned the word from the word wall at Northwind Summit, and got the completed quest objective for finding the word of power in Sunderstone Gorge. I had previously received a 'letter from a friend' telling me to go to Sunderstone Gorge, but had not been there yet. The words are not even from the same shout, as this one is Aura Whisper, and I believe the one in Sunderstone Gorge is the Fire Breath shout. Anyone else experience this or something similar? The bug (or a similar bug) is documented under bugs sections on the quest pages The Words of Power and Shout - learn about word wall. —MortenOSlash (talk) 07:09, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
Ah sorry, didn't think to check there! EllaFirebird (talk) 13:02, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
