Greeting[edit]

"Mercenary: There's been word of some trouble nearby. I'm on my way to investigate."
if you manage to convince him to tell you the job, he replies by marking your map to a place relatively nearby and tell you to take care of whatever happens there (ex: Rannveig's Fast). it doesn't comes out under miscellaneous quest list, so there's no quest arrow. probably a bug or a non-mark quest.120.165.47.230 13:24, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

Mercenary marked "Mistwatch" on my map and I wasn't nearly close to it. — Unsigned comment by 95.176.164.68 (talk)
I don't think it's a bug or even a non-marked quest, but just another way for the game to mention areas to you for you to explore, like the guards talking about nearby locations. -Vardis 00:43, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Mercenary in path to High Hrothgar[edit]

Mine directed me to Crystaldrift Cave. --Coxis 02:37, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

Imperial Camp was marked not a "Random Dungeon"[edit]

When i met a merc NW of Angas Mill, he marked the imperial camp far west of Dawnstar. Does that mean he tries to kill the camp? As far as I have seen, they just go to the dungeon and just stand there. But even if, why marking an imperial camp.

The Imperial and Stormcloak military camps are "Dungeons" so there's nothing "wrong" with that choice. As to what happens if the merc gets there, I don't know. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 01:41, 25 February 2013 (GMT)

If you're not successful?[edit]

I was not successful in persuading the mercenary to let me do her job. When I talked to her again, she game me the same greeting but wouldn't engage in conversation, so I let her go on her way. If I had chosen to follow her, would she have led me somewhere, or just kept wandering around until something killed her? Obax (talk) 02:45, 20 December 2014 (GMT)
