Script Bug?[edit]

Is there a bug with the scripted scene with the bar keep? when I walk into the bee and the barb, the priest and the Argonian just stand there and do not engage in dialogue. Is there supposed to be some requirements to trigger this other than walking into the bar? 217.137.157.197 17:48, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

It's a broken script. Not sure how to force it to run. Might be a "new patch" bug to go along with the Alchemy Lab bug found in Breezehome. About to find out if this affects the marriage script. Vyc Ðarkshådøw 21:37, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Wondering if there's a "clearquestaliases" command that can be typed into the console to fix this issue. A similiar issue to this occurred in "A Chance Arrangement", and "clearquestaliases TG00SP" fixed that bug, making the townspeople resume moving again. Gonna see if i can find a similiar working command that will work. Vyc Ðarkshådøw 21:58, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Couldn't get "clearquestaliases" to work, however advancing through the questline for marriage did make him eventually appear for the wedding ceremony. So getting married will make him act as normal, but will leave everyone ELSE standing in place (checked Bee and Barb after marriage quest, and found Maramal in his room afterwards). And just came back to The Bee and Barb, day after marriage, and Maramal and Talen-Jei are staring at each other yet again. Guess getting married only fixes him for that specific quest. Vyc Ðarkshådøw 23:56, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

() Restarted my game due to a different bug, and the Bee and Barb script seems to be running as normal again. At least it is on my game. Vyc Ðarkshådøw 02:05, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Bug seems to happen after finishing the quest A Chance Arrengment. Go to the Bee and the Barb before finishing the quest, or before starting it.

Fix for Bee and Barb stuck scene glitch[edit]

You won't be able to watch the scene at all, but typing "completequest DialogueRiftenSS05" in the console while in the Bee and Barb should cause Maramal and Talen-Jei to resume normal behavior.

The bug seems to be related to the quest sending the signal to start the scene and failing. Maramal and Talen-Jei get the scene AI package added and move to their starting positions. The quest seems to assume the scene will work without trouble and waits on the scene to finish so it can mark itself as done and perform cleanup, but since the scene never actually starts (confirmed via the console, the quest was in progress but the scene was not marked as playing) it hangs forever. Completing the quest seems to force-end any scenes and clean up the quest aliases/AI packages properly. Warrior7 10:12, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Using "completequest DialogueRiftenSS05" didn't work for me. I recommend that you use "setstage 5ce25 100" to complete the scripted scene. The NPC's won't act out the scene, but at least their AI package will kick in like normal. Hope this helps.--Hannador (talk) 15:03, 27 May 2013 (GMT)

Maramal doesn't give you the option to marry:[edit]

With the Mara's amulet I have asked a character to marry but the option "ask Maramal about arranging the wedding" doesn't become active. It's in the journal as active quest, but doesn't point to Riften and to Maramal. When I talk to Maramal he doesn't give you the option to arrange the wedding. I even tried to drop the amulet of Maramal and he does sell me a new one, but that's the only change he does. Otherwise he talks only about Mara and donations.

It worked before I downloaded mods. I married Octieve San, divorced him with divorce-mod and I haven't been able to marry ever since. Even the force marrying with console commands like "setstage relationshipmarriage etc." code won't give Maramal the option nor the "setrelationshiprank player 4 etc." commands won't give him the option to marry. The partner whom I was going to get married with does recognize the console commands and reacts to them, but Maramal doesn't react to them.

I even tried killing the first person I was married to, in case it would help but so far I hasn't helped.

I did try to marry mod-characters (like Lisette), but I don't think marrying any marriageable characters (like Lydia) would make any difference. I haven't tried that yet, though, but I doubt it helps anything. I have tried to remove all my mods to make the marriage-option appear with Maramal, but it doesn't help. Any ideas? — Unsigned comment by 87.93.26.219 (talk) at 06:35 on 30 October 2012‎

You're dealing with mods and console commands which alter the game from the way it's intended to work. There are many variables which could cause the issues you're having (trying to marry mod-characters, using divorce mods, messing with console commands, being married once before already), so figuring out exactly what's causing the issues will be difficult, if not impossible. A new save may be your only easy option. — ABCface 00:06, 21 November 2012 (GMT)
Possible solution: I had the same problem when I wanted to remarry (I had divorced using console commands). Maramal didn't have the marriage dialogue and the quest pointer didn't point at him. So I loaded earlier savegame - in which I didn't speak to my love interest yet. I threw the amulet of Mara (and the bond of matrimony from the first marriage) away. Then I travelled to Maramal. He offered me the new amulet of Mara for 200 gold. Then I travelled to my love interest, talked with him about marriage which activated the "talk to Maramal about wedding" part. Then I travelled to Maramal and voila! - he had the marriage line of dialogue.
