Do Not Delete[edit]

I killed this guy for the quest given to me by Malborn and he dropped an item called "<DO NOT DELETE>" I have not picked this up for fear of what it would do. Has anyone else experienced this I'm assuming bug? -Guissepi 23:50, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

See here. It happens occasionally. It seems you were right in not picking it up. Wolok gro-Barok 13:06, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Caravan appearing[edit]

Once the quest is initiated, a Khajiit caravan will settle down behind Windhelm Stables and J'datharr will be present as well

Having done this quest a number of times, I recall him mostly being on his own. I don't think the caravan is scripted to return/teleport/stay there when this quest is active. Anyone checked this? ~ Dwarfmp (talk) 01:01, 3 December 2013 (GMT)

Present as soon as Malborn arrives in Windhelm[edit]

I traveled to Windhelm after fleeing the embassy and saw Malborn arrive. I had not yet finished Diplomatic immunity, and so Malborn still talked as if he were at the embassy. When I left Windhelm J'datharr was outside alone where the caravans set up — Unsigned comment by 173.216.52.216 (talk) at 06:35 on 20 August 2016 (UTC)

J’datharr shows up in Riften and follows the Dragonborn[edit]

On this playthrough I’ve put off mainquesting for a long time (level 61) and poor Malborn is still sitting waiting for me in The Winking Skeever.

Recently J’datharr appeared in Riften out the back of The Bee & Barb, and started behaving like Shavari, the other Thalmor agent/assassin that shows up during A Cornered Rat. He’s behaving like Shavari and following the Dragonborn around the centre of Riften. I fast traveled to Shor’s Stone and then saw him entering the town walking north, and since he didn’t deviate from doing that to come any closer or even seeming to notice the Dragonborn I figured it was a glitch and he was on his way to Windhelm, although puzzlingly early.

Wrong. Next trip to Riften found him back there, actively spying on the Dragonborn again. I pickpocketed him and found the note about Malborn. He’s still loitering there, making his stock evasive responses.

I wonder if the small mods I’m using somehow interfered with a cell or script that concerns him. Recently I added City Shacks, Morrowind Imports, Thieves Guild Mission Door, and Northern Bathhouses (there’s one in the basement of The Bee & Barb).

I’ll report back about what happens when I advance the main quest. — Unsigned comment by 216.252.90.115 (talk) at 03:05 on 3 October 2021
