Dragon Priests[edit]

Anyone know the results of J'zargo's scroll if used against a dragon priest or other high HP undead? — Unsigned comment by 69.246.199.250 (talk) at 11:30 on 20 November 2011

Same as used against any others, deals a lot of damage to both you and it. 92.30.190.226 20:28, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
It's mentioned on J'zargo's page, but not on this one - after completing this quest, J'zargo will become a follower when asked. 124.170.15.129 20:14, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
The question is it possible to kill Draugr Death Lord or Dragon Priest by one scroll(is it insta-kill effect for undead) or it is just 100-200 fixed damage. Also I should mention that in Catacombs of Hall of Dead in Whiterun(tiny quest for the Priest of Arkay) there are always 3 respawning skeletons, if you aggro them all then you can do the quest in 1 scroll use. But of course use gear/potion for magic and fire resistance.--89.23.179.126 06:46, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Note: I tried this on a stone-zombified draugr death lord (IOW I raised him) and you DON'T need to kill it to get the quest to update (and it only does about 100 damage to it anyway). In fact, cast it once, and move away far enough for your minion to be outside of the radius of the shroud, then move back into range... you get a new explosion, and the quest updates again. You can repeat this as many times as you need to. so: -you only need to use one scroll. -you can do it with a summoned or raised undead minion. -you don't have to kill the minion. I just happened to have that death lord as a minion when I got the quest, and finished it right there, on the spot, in 1 minute. — Unsigned comment by 60.234.198.129 (talk) at 11:39 on 8 October 2013

Interaction on follower[edit]

Whenever I use the scroll with a follower around, he/she always leave my service. This is including quest specific follower (i.e. Delphine, Esbern). If they're essential they'll turn back to normal after I beat them up, but they always become hostile if I try to talk to them afterward. — Unsigned comment by AtrumVentus (talkcontribs) at 04:14 on 21 January 2012

As noted on the page, the Flame Cloak effect of J'zargo's scrolls deals damage to friendlies. This is probably why your followers are leaving your service/becoming hostile; you're hurting them when they get too close. Arcanist 04:33, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

i can't start the experiment.[edit]

Help! For some reason I can't even get the dialogue to begin this quest. J'zargo won't ask me for help with his experiment. It's the same dialogue options, those first three every time. Why can't I start it?— Unsigned comment by Klonder (talkcontribs) at 17:07 on 9 February 2012

Explosion damage?[edit]

I’m looking at the Creation Kit, and have found the MGRJzargoFlameCloakDmg effect, but have no idea how to read the information there. How much damage does the explosion do base? Is it affected by perks or Destruction skill? Can it be resisted with Resist Fire?73.98.176.11 05:33, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
