Possible Bug[edit]

Is it a bug that on the PC version he does not want to talk to the dragonborn? I have not joined the theives guild, when I talk to him he tells me to go away — Unsigned comment by 83.81.246.145 (talk) at 02:55 on 19 January 2012

Stealing in front of him[edit]

I dropped a few stolen items in front of him unthinkingly - i was over encumbered and wanted to go through all the chests etc in the grotto without wasting str potions. Anyway, when I picked them up, he attacked - is it intended? It seems rather...silly that an ally of the thieves guild gets pissed off if you steal something. Wasn't an item from the grotto, but the warehouse itself, though i doubt that'd make a difference. ````Slainia — Unsigned comment by 74.15.28.221 (talk) at 07:19 on 4 December 2012 (GMT)

Gulum-Ei has amusingly enough morality set to No Crime, funny as it might seem, so that seems to be a logic reaction. —MortenOSlash (talk) 07:23, 23 December 2012 (GMT)

Brothers and sisters[edit]

It is said he is the brother of Skyrim:Jaree-Ra and Skyrim:Deeja. Is there any proof of this? Or is it just racism that assumes all argonians are brothers and sisters? --Soyweiser (talk) 08:21, 27 May 2014 (GMT)

Who says or where is it said so? —MortenOSlash (talk) 15:34, 27 May 2014 (GMT)
They are marked as such in the cslist. --AN|L (talk) 15:36, 27 May 2014 (GMT)

Cut dialogue[edit]

There's been a few edits to this page recently to remove cut dialogue on the grounds it may have been intentionally removed. As of today, the precedent is to document unused/cut/broken dialogue. There are many examples of this, but off the top of my head almost every Shivering Isles NPC has unused dialogue documented. For example, every NPC who lives in Split, like this one. This practice has continued into Skyrim. As a random example, see Skyrim:Scouts-Many-Marshes. This practice has also continued into ESO. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 16:12, 18 December 2021 (UTC)

Nothing in game even hinted at him knowing about Nightingale so him speaking about them is absurd. There may be earlier development stages where he had a more important role in TG quest line, but we have no way of knowing this. So this information here serves no purpose. Furthermore, unused dialogue and unused contents are all over the place in this game, the developers simply never bothered to delete them, but since they do not appear in the game and do not consist of bug AND is not some cut quest like Civil War or Assassinating Elisif we do not document them, not in any other pages.
Your example here proves my point. Scouts-Many-Marshes' dialogue is not cut but not able to be completed due to schedule problem. However in Gulum-Ei's case, in the current game him saying about nightingale is like I said, absurd. How can he talk about something he is not supposed to know?
A bug is, by its definition, things working not as intended. Unless we have proof of this being a bug, it can at most go to Notes. Even then, we should avoid giving people impression that this is how it supposed to be. Lywzc (talk) 16:19, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
Per your claim that we do not document unused content unless it is a cut quest or bugged, we do. I provided examples of us documenting unused content in my first message, but here are pages with more examples:
The variety of the lines of unused lines we cover across the wiki cover ones that are most likely bugged, lines from earlier versions of quests that were changed, and very minor ones that just went unused for whatever reason. We have not made any distinction about documenting any of them. My one example of this being used in a slightly different manner does not prove that there is a second threshold for unused content to cross to deserve documentation. As for the matter of having it as a bug instead of a note, I agree that it works better as a note, and changed it into one. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 16:50, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
Fine then. I adjusted wording and added reason of cutting it. Lywzc (talk) 17:34, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
