Linwe's Hood[edit]

Linwe's hood provides the enchantment "Shadowsight" which is an alternate form of Fortify Archery. But in spite of Linwe's page saying it only works on headgear, I'm not allowed to enchant anything at all with it. I've hats, circlets, and something for every slot except shield, and when I select Shadowsight, they're all greyed out. This is with patch 1.3 . Anyone else try to use this enchant? I have the same issue with all of Linwe's armor. I've read it is likely an oversight that Linwe's items are able to be disenchanted.— Unsigned comment by 76.110.72.188 (talk) at 22:52 on 21 December 2011

Nice but broken[edit]

The Bug with "Fortify Marksman" is nice, but it makes the Game appear broken, to say the least; I, for example, use a Daedric Bow, Daedric Arrows (which I forge using a self-made mod), and a Blades Sword. After taking a (Exploit-made, Fortify Alchemy gear strength: 621%) potion "fortify marksman 433%), My Arrows do 107 (25) damage, my bow 680 (108) and my Sword 545 (85), numbers in brackets are without the Potion; I also got to add (as visible from the value differences), that esp. on the Sword, the Damage increaser is NOT 433% but higher, that is definetly due to my Character having perks increasing one-handed Damage/Archery bonuses. Please, Bethesda, DON'T fix it (Seriously), these little "quirks" and exploits are helping a lot when playing on Master Difficulty.MarukiTheFaceHater 06:21, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm fairly sure that they will patch this; however, by the sounds of it, that won't affect you too much - you can just hack in more powerful equipment. ?• JATalk 06:26, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Yeah Jak, true that. BUT, I DON'T want to hack a Sword with 450+ Damage, that would break the game; it's just sometimes that it's useful; but, lol, you can simply make Potions for Fortify One-Handed and so on, IF they fix it.MarukiTheFaceHater 14:16, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

rings?[edit]

so not rings then? cause i've got a ring of it All varieties of Bracers/Gauntlets and Helmets of Archery

* Includes the enchantments of Minor Fortify Archery, of Major Fortify Archery, of Extreme Fortify Archery of Eminent Fortify Archery, and of Peerless Fortify Archery. — Unsigned comment by 24.38.223.147 (talk) at 07:03 on 28 February 2012
No, rings can be disenchanted, too. They just got overlooked when assembling the list. --NepheleTalk 07:37, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Bug Enchantment Shadowsight for FortifyArchery[edit]

I wanted to improve my skills with bow enchantment and decided to disenchant the hood of linwe that has the enchantment that fortifies archery. But I can not enchant anything with this enchant, any type of clothing. Thought the clothes Linwe when disenchanted generate this same bug. The link where I found this information (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim_talk:Fortify_Archery) I wonder if I have to remove that enchent I learned to try to see if disenchanting other garments will be alright.

Sorry if I wrote something wrong, I do not know very well English. — Unsigned comment by Vitorpagani (talkcontribs) at 10:26 on 29 December 2012

The science of archery[edit]

Ok if you have a ever shot a deadric bow and then shot a hunting bow afterwords you may notice that the deadric bow fires slower than the hunting bow but it did not as much damage so if your a call of duty free for all fan a orcish bow or lower is right for you and these include the dwarven hunting and long bow also the nightingale bow and you can use heavy armor for those bows and won't effect you to much but if you were wearing lighter armor it would be easier sorry if the dwarven bow is better than orcish my friend only gave me skyrim 2 weeks ago

Fortift Archery bug unconfirmed[edit]

The second bug shown on the page - "Having a total Fortify Archery value greater than 127 causes an arithmetic overflow to occur when calculating bow damage. The result is that bows do considerably less damage than intended, to the point they may even be made weaker. This can occur when using multiple non-exploitive (reasonable) enchantments." - Not sure whether to change this to MAY cause or whether it should be removed unless someone can get this to trigger. As I've recently rebuilt my sniper character after an accidental deletetion and have far more than the listed 127 value in fortification and haven't been able to replicate this bug. I also haven't been able to reproduce this. It would not overflow at 127%, you need to use exploits to even get close to an overflow. This should probably be removed. Sickliff (talk) 14:22, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
