Hostile soldiers[edit]

I'm neutral with both the Stormcloaks and the Imperials, but whenever I enter this camp, the soldiers attack my follower Lydia. First time I was speaking with the camp leader, and suddenly I heard fighting outside the temp, and they were fighting with Lydia, and when I exited too, they attacked me too. Even the camp leader, who was friendly a second ago, attacked me. He's unkillable though. I reloaded my save and tried again, with the same result. Tried at a later time - same. Don't know why this one camp is hostile to me. — Unsigned comment by 85.66.211.226 (talk) at 23:07 on 26 February 2012

Disappearing camp[edit]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't these camps supposed to exist regardless of alignment or progression of any kind? On my way to Autumnwatch, I take the path through the mountains past this camp, but on this run-through, the camp did not exist (no tents or campfire, soldiers, or Sun-Killer). Only the quartermaster was there, but his smith was gone. Instead, I found a slaughtered Khajiit caravan and 4 or 5 bandits on the road. Can someone try and replicate this? Argonian male, level 4. Sided with Hadvar, but did not talk to his uncle. Went to Whiterun to get the two waypoints (did not enter Dragonsreach). Fast travel to Helgen and follow the road. Reloading a save had the same result. I'll try a fresh game once I get some time in with this lizard.98.198.118.224 06:45, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

Definitely a bug. Tried it three more times with fresh characters and my mods turned off. If siding with Hadvar and you don't talk to Jarl Balgruf, the camp doesn't spawn. Can someone confirm?98.198.118.224 07:13, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
I did that (left with Hadvar and haven't spoken to the Jarl yet), and only the Quartermaster was present. No camp. Lobsel Vith 18:06, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
I don't think thats a bug. The caravan will disappear when the camp is set up. Same with the wolves guarding a dead Nord not far. The corpse has a skillbook, but only the coinpurse remain if the camp is there already. I actually always go that way instead of heading to Riverwood. I think it all disappear (and the camp spawns) when you're asked to join either army. It's worth it since that's 2 skillbooks that would disappear (1 on the Khajit caravan, the other on the corpse near the wolves). --213.219.153.228 13:03, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
The caravan will despawn once you have visited Riverwood. The camp spawns for me (along with the caravan), but I have always followed Ralof. I have noticed, however, that the caravan will also despawn if you go past it as far as a stone cairn that is up the road. My standard play now is to loot the caravan, kill the hostile bandits that appear, and sell the equipment to the SC Quartermaster at the camp. Also, it's worth noting that, when played as 'intended' (i.e. going to Riverwood right away, then going to Whiterun), the caravan is disabled, but the bandits remain. They have lost the trigger that causes them to attack, and will allow you to approach. They will also respawn, and still behave the same way. Csjimmy (talk) 15:57, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
I don't think visiting Riverwood is the trigger, I think it's entering Whiterun Hold. I never visited Riverwood and at some point the caravan is disabled and the camp is enabled. I visited the Guardian Stones (Falkreath Hold) and it was still there, but after some more exploring the camp was enabled. I may have inadvertently entered Whiterun Hold at some point, but I definitely never entered Riverwood, Whiterun or started the civil war questlines (explored around Guardian Stones, Anise's Cabin, and went NW all the way up to the Lover's Stone). Perhaps Riverwood is a definite trigger and if that doesn't happen it can also happen after a few days? I followed Ralof. 13:52, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
Necro posting. I ran through Helgen as fast as I could (passing all the fights, leaving Hadvar behind to do the fighting). From the cave I immediately went back up and through Helgen towards Riften (Got passed by Hadvar running back out of the keep while in town). I went up the road and found the caravan and a bandit ambush but no camp. The camp seems to spawn either after you begin 'before the storm' or after General Tullius and Ulfric return to Solitude and Windhelm respectively. While they normally 'fast travel' back, it's not instantaneous, so while you're making your way to Riverwood and they are in the world way ahead of you, if you change the timescale you can run into them on the road heading back (Just like they will walk back from the peace conference at High Hrothgar). Since the war was supposed to be over with Ulfric's capture, their return to their respective cities might be the trigger for all the camps appearing. Some investigation is in order. Moved from page[edit]

On two occasions I have gone about tying to find this camp, only to find blue and red flags floating above where the planning table should be and to the left standing by a tree was the Stormcloak Quartermaster who you could trade things with. No tents, no fire, no horses. Glitch I suppose but nonetheless ... This was on a PS3 platform.. I don't know of the others. — Unsigned comment by SubHuman (talkcontribs) at 21:09 on 8 April 2012

Quartermaster and 2 sick Stormcloak soldiers in civilian clothes.[edit]

360, current patch, playing as khajiit discovered camp at level 20. havent joined either side or attempted A Blade in the Dark.

I found the sick tent occupied by 2 civilian women named stormcloak soldiers wearing different dresses, no armor. and the quartermaster was wearing what looked to be blacksmith clothing.

everyone else here wore Stormcloak regalia. very strange.

was wondering if this happened to anybody else. — Unsigned comment by 76.16.56.252 (talk) on 18 April 2012

It's normal behavior and not a bug. Vely►t►e 23:16, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Major game breaking glitch[edit]

This glitch totally breaks the civil war quest line.

Get to the point where you have to liberate falkreath hold for the storm cloaks before starting season unending. Then do season unending. The camp totally dissapears and the quest line can't progress.KingKTalk 19:47, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

EDIT I do so greatly apologise, turns out you can talk to Ulfric and the quests continue as normal.KingKTalk 19:47, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Sons of Skyrim Military Camp[edit]

I've gone through the Stormcloak questline, and this place is disabled for me. However, the local map opened at this location shows the name "Sons of Skyrim Military Camp" (and this is not the only place where this happens). Is this considered to be a bug? Roger (talk) 15:47, 31 October 2012 (GMT)

Galmar doesn't turn up at camp[edit]

Started stormcloak missions other day did first mission with no problems, got new task and galmar doesn't show up at the camp, the marker doesn't move from its location which is next to a tree at the camp. Visited other camps can't find him, looked in windhelm not there, tried 30 day wait that I got from different website still nothing, really frustrated as I can't continue with quest line and have no idea how to get around this annoying glitch. Worked on previous saves but now nothing. Playing on ps3. — Unsigned comment by 94.15.4.128 (talk) at 18:37 on January 26, 2013

The camp doesn't exist[edit]

I watched multiple YouTube videos and looked up maps and I am pretty certain I am in the right place and the camp is just not there. If I pan around Stormcloak Riften (with an E that indicates an action is available) and StormCloak Winterhold pop up, but you can't see anyone or do anything.
